Braces you uncouth so and soI love it! The suspenders are especially a nice touch.![]()
I definitely see the Mork & Mindy connection and it's one that was playing in the back of my head because it did look familiar. I don't mind that comparison at all.I think I like it. It has that curious mix of old man rummaging around in a charity shop bin meets high fashion. I definitely like the look of the coat, looks like it has a hood which I can see working well. The high waisted trousers are a bit Simon Cowell but women do wear trousers higher up than blokes mostly, and sadly someone's already made some Mork and Mindy comments online so I can't get that out of my head now (but is an M&M comparison that bad anyway?)
Not what I was expecting, but I can already see her pushing her coat back to stick her hands in her pocket in a very Doctorly fashion.
Yeah, that's one British term I can't and won't adapt!Braces you uncouth so and so![]()
The rainbow stripes give it a bit of a Tom Baker feel (though Mork occurred to me too). Overall, it looks kind of thrown together and not as stylish as her predecessors' looks -- which is probably a good thing, since it subverts the expectation that a female lead should be more glamorous and sexy.
And they're going with a hood after all. I figured the hood in the debut video was just for the sake of hiding her appearance, but I guess it made enough of an impact (and has already sparked enough cosplay) that they decided to keep that element.

I also like how this outfit isn't trying to emulate any of the previous outfits. And I believe this is the first one not to feature a collar of any kind.

I hear braces and I immediately think of teeth. So very different.
Same here. A great relief indeed. Although, I personally find women wearing suspenders (not bracesI'm pleased to see it's totally unsexualised.
I like the hood a lot. It's a nice contrast from the previous outfits and it's one we've never seen before with The Doctor. And they're going with a hood after all. Ah, yeah. I knew I was forgetting something. His jacket did have a collar, and considering he never took it off, then I'm more or less right.ha ha
Re the collars. Nine?

It has a definite feel of what 11 would wear if he was a woman!

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of this look, probably my least favourite Doctors costume to be fair, I hope she gets some variants that do her justice.
if the outfit was balanced by slimmer trousers then she'd look a lot less clown-like.
At least the TARDIS is looking nice, that might turn out to be my favourite look for a TARDIS exterior. So much conflict going on rn...
Oh, huh. I hadn't know that. Still learning. For us, suspenders are a lingerie, so I thought you'd seen the blue version.....

Yeah, I can see that. I really love her boots despite or because (don't know) of the connection to The Eleventh Doctor.Weirdly, I was thinking that, too! "I could see Matt Smith's Doctor wearing this." I blame the boots.![]()
if the rumours are true about her Doctor being split in three
