"Buffy" kind of did it they way to do it though in "Once More With Feeling" More likely though I think I would prefer a reference than seeing the act, even if it was done in a non-graphic way. Only graphic sex I want is Klingon Sex scene. I still want to see how they do it after so much things implied. Everything from the male reading poetry while the female throws heavy objects to the sex stuff though with that part I would still want it done in the realm of PG-13. The Buffy/Spike scene were the building falls on top of them is about as graphic as it should go.

Most mainstream tv shows depict sex with the characters only in underwear, "suggested" nudity, being in bed but wtih blankets artfully covering covering the naughty bits. Or the TNG way which simply had the characters share a romantic kiss with a very suggestive invitation to share quarters for the night.
There's a thousand ways to tell the viewers that "sex happened" without actually having sex shown.
