Having seen the preview, it would have been Trek-fashion to name the Ep 'Magic to make the sanest man go Mudd' instead of Mad..
Definitely looks like a more standard trek standalone episode. However with Mudd involved I have a feeling we are going to learn some stuff about Tyler from Mudd.

It's weird how they started so very un-Trek in many ways and now are going back to the classic formula. What's next? The Discovery encounters a mischevious energy based being The Discovery finds a planet which seems nice but has some horrible madness inducing weirdness The Discovery encounters a planet ruled by a computer They have to break the Prime Directive!
I wish we focused on some of the other characters. Who is that one with the helmet and what is her story. Also Detmer has a 7 of 9 look going on. What’s up with that. Hell I barely know any of these characters by name. What is the black girls name and why haven’t we focused on her. It seems a little early to do a time loop episode.
