Spoilers The Flash - Season 4

Huh? We saw Cisco shaving him in the Pipeline. And we saw (although it was blink-and-you'll-miss-it) that he took the new suit from Cisco's lab when he sped out.
Guess I missed the shaving scene. But when Barry breaks out of the prison it looks like he has the suit on.

When Barry speeds out of his cell, there is a quick scene where Cisco comments that the suit is gone. So logically, Barry zipped out of his cell and grabbed the new suit on his way out. Here is the full scene:

Such a blast this week. They're really delivering on their promise to bring the fun again. Probably the most entertaining episode of any Arrowverse show since last year's "Duet" crossover (and I say this as a dedicated Supergirl partisan).

I loved the opening scene with Barry dancing a la Tom Cruise.

I don't care how fast he moves, but there's no way you can cook egg and pancakes within seconds. I always find it silly when he does little things like that in superspeed mode. More to follow ...

I just hope that "bringing the fun" is a bit less on the silly side moving forward. Some scenes were a bit too hammy for me.
The Risky Business scene really had me rolling my eyes. I always thought it was an over hyped scene from an over rated movie with one of the most over rated actors.
That being said, when they put the silliness aside, it was a pretty good episode.

No they didn't.
Yeah. To be fair, it isn't a new concept, a character coming back from some kind of different realm or "higher plane of existence".

If the pan(s) is hot enough and he keeps stirring and/or flipping fast enough, it may be doable.

It seemed to me like he was using his superspeed to do other stuff while waiting for the eggs and pancakes to cook. What I found implausible was that he could get to Jitters and back before the pancake stopped flipping. I mean, the coffee would pour into the cup under the influence of gravity, so it would fall under the same acceleration as the pancake. That alone would make it impossible to pull off that feat.

Also, given the speed that the Flash and the runaway car were moving at, I can't believe Barry and Iris would've had time to have that whole argument about which way to turn the car before they reached the intersection. But then, this is a comic-book world, and comic-book characters often have a tendency to deliver lengthy speeches in the middle of split-second actions...

That apartment the murder victim was being shown at the beginning was obviously Oliver/Felicity/Thea's penthouse from Arrow, complete with the incongruous New York City skyline outside. They didn't even try to disguise it.

Oh, but the most absurd speed gag in this one was Barry "saving" Joe and the other guy from the grenade by picking out the shrapnel. That wouldn't do a thing about the primary way a grenade kills people, the blast wave traveling through the air. Nobody in Hollywood understands that the deadliest part of an explosion is the invisible part. It doesn't matter if you avoid the flames and the shrapnel, it's the intense, sudden increase in pressure rupturing your internal organs that's gonna kill you. Seriously, don't TV writers watch MythBusters?

So Earth-19 has a St. Shaquille O'Neal's Day? I'd like to think he was sainted for his work as an armored superhero.

I do hope they get rid of the "iron man" style upgrades to Barry's suit. The Flash is about speed not a high tech suit. The plasma weapon in the palm of his hands was way over the top.

I was wondering if the suit upgrades were a one shot in order to allow the villain of the episode to take over the suit.
It was an obvious inevitability given the nature of the metahuman powers he had.
It was also an excuse for the unnecessary sight gag of the flotation mode.
Not something I'll miss if it goes away.

I do hope they get rid of the "iron man" style upgrades to Barry's suit.

They said in the denouement that Cisco would be removing the extra tech.

I hope they keep the eye shields and the HUD, though. Really, it makes no sense that a guy running at superspeed doesn't have eye protection.

I don't mind the silly speedforce shenanigans in this episode, but that they repeatedly mentioned that these guys made a malware app that they sold to a big tech company.
That's... not the sort of thing you advertise or smilingly pose for pictures in tech magazines.

Maybe the picture was taken before they developed the malware, and it was being used as a stock photo in a later article about the scandal.

Or maybe they were "white hat" hackers who developed the malware and sold it to a tech-security company so it could develop better defenses against that type of malware.

Anyway, I guess we now know how to pronounce "Kilg%re." It's just "Kilgore" with gimmicky typography, which is pretty much what I expected. Although Wikipedia says that was established in Flash vol. 2 #51 back in 1991.

My wife and I had a chuckle at the preview for the next episode. We often joke that "luck sucking" is my superpower. Or as I like to call it: schadenglücken. Bad things tend to happen to my friends when good things happen to me. I know it's just confirmation bias, but it makes a good story.
