Stamets, he seems the most well thought out of the bunch, and is definitely helped by the fact that Anthony Rapp is an excellent actor.

I "like" them all...so it's not to say I dislike Tilley and Saru. I just like them less than the others.

To everyone's dismay I voted Burnham.

Georgiou easily. She seemed like an excellent captain with strength, compassion, humour and charisma.

But of the remaining characters, Stamets. As I already said in another thread, he is good sort of flawed character, abrasive and has some issues, but deep down a good guy. One doesn't need to be a murderous sociopath in order to not be 'boringly perfect'.

Thank you. I really feel the same. I mean she's not a bad character, but we've had this whole Vulcan-or-Human discussion with Spock already. While I like Spock, I think Burnham is just over the top.

Yes, I definitely do that and that's why I was also interested in what others think of the characters.

I especially love it when a character who seems to have no feelings, actually has a lot. (My favorite TOS character is Spock, my favorite VOY is Seven. Coincidence? I think not!)

Hm, I see what you mean, but I quite like Saru as a person. I think the reason for why he is the First Officer and not some science officer (which would suit him better and relieve stress) is because Lorca himself is questionable... (He left Harry Mudd, like what??)
Tilly is cute and a really great person, but this character style sort of annoys me. But other than some people, I also liked Neelix in the end, so I will probably like her too!

Interesting that quite some people like Georgiou! I liked her as well, but I feel like I haven't seen enough. But maybe/ probably there's more in the future.

I didn't expect anyone to have Culber under their top 5, but that's great! I really like him myself, because he's that chill, unproblematic character that every show needs/that I need in every show.

Mysterious characters are usually very important to me too, but I feel like at least Michael isn't that mysterious after all. As for Lorca - he is. But yeah, he's just not my favorite.

Lorca, undoubtedly. A hard, stoic man making hard choices in hard times, and leading boldly and strongly, without the touchy-feeley emo angst of other current TV shows. This is exactly the kind of character I was hoping for on STD.

As a bonus, he's not annoying and unlikable like so many of the other characters.

I feel so bad for not knowing her name, but - did she say anything in the show yet? And what kind of species is she supposed to be? Because Seven was the first re-assimilated drone and the Borg weren't known until later on.

True. She seemed a bit like a less emotional Janeway in my opinion.

Your description of him is completely accurate and I despise him. He is exactly the sort of character I hate. Give me touchy-feely characters any day.

I think he really is! He was great as both (for example) grumpy Stamets as well as dreamy Stamets.
But to be honest, in episode 3 and 4, I though he was like the guy on Voyager from the lower decks in "Good Shepherd" who is super grumpy and lives without talking to anybody. (His name is Mortimer Harren, I looked it up.) Happy he is not like that.

I agree with that way too much.

I'm enjoying the dysfunctional quartet of Burnham, Tilly, Stamets, and Dr. Culber, although, truthfully, Culber is probably the most well-adjusted person on the crew so far. They complement each other's strengths and weaknesses well and function better as a unit.

Culber didn't get a lot of screentime, but a brief and subtle scene sold me on his character. It was when Burnham was talking to him about the Tardigrade and he not only took her suggestions seriously and genuinely wanted to try and help her, but gave her a smile and a pat on the back for encouragement and friendship on the way out the door. Even Tilly, bastion of perkiness that she is, treated Burnham with some disdain on account of her prisoner status, so it was nice to see someone who didn't immediately write her off or dehumanize her for being a prisoner.

I love the sense of whimsy the group had for their experiment during the "This is so fucking cool" scene. Whatever your objections (or not) to the cursing are, that was quintessential Trek and something that's been missing for quite a while. Traveling through the stars shouldn't be mundane cataloging of the anomaly of the week, it should fill you with awe and wonder. I'm reminded of the scene with Picard and Riker in the Ready Room in First Contact reading the busy work list Starfleet gave them instead of going to fight the Borg Cube. Granted, the had other, more important things on their mind, but they read off this list of amazing space events and objects like checking them out is equivalent to doing the laundry. I know in their time they will have become somewhat jaded to the exploration, but damn.

I know Tilly's quirkiness grates on a lot of people, but I find it adorable. She's like my little sister. Stamet's sarcasm and dry wit connects with me on a number of levels, and I enjoy his morally intractable nature. Burnham's redemption arc is coming along quite nicely, and it's good to see that she can find her humanity again frather than just be cold and aloof.

I like all the characters so far. Except for Landry. Tilly, Lorca, Burnham, and Stamets all compete for second place under Saru for me.

I voted for Michael and Tilly. I have a soft spot for Tilly as she makes me think that's what I'd act like on a starship. :D

I also like Saru and Stamets, but I could only vote for two. :p

Lorca is growing on me slowly but I want to know more. The rest are all a bit of a blur but I think/hope it will improve.

Lorca and Stamets. I've known people like both of them. I find them believable characters and I am interested in what happens to them. Honestly it was a close call, I would have liked to put Saru in there too.

Can we rank the Disco crew in order of arrogance?
