Spoilers The game changing Voq theory

All those false names in your post upset me.

It was epic, truly epic.

My favorites were L'Orca/Free Willy, Cadet Twitchy and LL'Rell'J. :techman:

Locutus, I'm curious about one thing though. Do you concur with my belief that Lorca actually knows (or at least suspects) that Tyler is a spy? When Lorca is talking to Tyler after they first meet, the questions Lorca asks (and his reaction to Tyler's answers, particularly about being confined for 7 months) made me suspicious that Lorca doesn't believe him.

No doubt Tyler will be debriefed in short order, and his answers will be too perfect, but there will be no solid reason to suspect anything wrong, so they will reassign him to the Disco crew and put him on the duty roster.

Kor

If Voq is Tyler, maybe Voq lost himself to the Tyler personality, i.e. maybe he doesn't remember being Voq? And he has implanted memories of seven months as L'Rell's plaything, not knowing it is a fiction. Who knows though?

Tyler seemed confused about it being 7 months.

Then again I guess it would probably be hard to keep track of time in a place like that.

Oh, he definitely knew something wasn't kosher about the guy's story up front, which is why Tyler opted to take the beating (to build trust and arrange his escape). Whether he was convinced by the fight with L'Rell is another story. I think he was placated for a while, but he's still so paranoid (and rightly so) he'll keep a close watch on Tyler regardless.

As I mentioned before, Lorca will most likely look up everything he can about Lt. Tyler.

Though, if he finds something off, it probably won't be apparent at first.

LORCA is clearly the Klingon agent. His "I'm the only survivor of a Klingon attack" is just a cover to explain why just the captain survived.

Okay, maybe Lorca and Tyler are Klingons! *Gasp*

That's how the Klingons knew where Lorca would be, and what better way to sneak Voq into the fold than to have the already entrenched Lorca bring him? They also made sure to kill/leave behind anyone who might shoot holes in their story.

Lorca was even smart enough to cut the legs off of a furry animal and keep it in his office, pretending it is a tribble. ;)

It's pretty clear that Tyler is Voq, CBS accidentally dropped that when the originally listed Shazad Latif as Kol (who would later be remained as Voq). Here's my guess Voq/Tyler actually becomes a "good guy" through his relationship with Michael and maybe even makes it possible for the Federation to win the war, and I suspect Lorca will be the bady.

On Voq/Tyler I am torn.

The dialogue and the fact that a fanatical rascist Klingon would take up with a human male suggest he is Voq.

The fact that she charged out to him with no one around, grts pulverized, and is lucky to only get half her face shot off suggest not.

Maybe he doesn't know himself. Perhaps he does know & now hates her for making him into something he despises. Perhaps it is just poor wtiting.

I wondered about that too.

Coming from someone with an Orville avatar, that means nothing.

Do we have an ignore feature here? Or perhaps I don't have it because I'm a noob?
Just a heads-up, it's a no-no to talk about the ignore function like that. They don't like it.

Just ignore with your brain until you get the option of having the computer do it for you. :)
To Tosk you should listen, yesss. Don't broadcast your intention to put someone on ignore, or else it can be considered trolling and receive an infraction. Do, or do not, there is no troll.

You should have access to the ignore feature soon enough, but you're going to have more problems than the ignore feature can fix if you can't learn to deal with opposing opinions or people with the avatar of a show you don't like.

And knowing Trek, any falsified personnel records the Klingons create for "Ash Tyler" will contain a piece of information so glaringly wrong and illogical that Lorca will pick up on it right away and use it to expose him later on. Remember how Barash created an almost perfect recreation of the 1701-D to trick Riker into believing it was seventeen years into his future? The inclusion of Minuet as a real woman in the fake Enterprise computer records clued Riker into realizing everything around him was a simulation.

I could see L'Rell and her Klingons planting a mostly believable fake service record for "Tyler" but including a detail that sets off Lorca's personal Red Alert and blows his entire cover.

And if Tyler was a real person, they don't need to.

Having rewatched the episode, if Tyler is Voq, they've done some kind of memory trick with him. He's a sleeper agent and doesn't even know it.

Because if he beat the living shit out of L'Rell with his bare hands, Lorca anywhere around just for authenticity, this is a WWE-level bullshit storyline.

Hell I assume klingons beat each other for fun anyway.... It's part of the mating ritual so I'm pretty sure he beat her like that after she took a liking to him
