How is it that Burnham 'got his captain killed'?

Georgiou's original plan to bomb the Klingon vessel would have resulted in her death. That was averted when the plan changed to booby trapping the Klingon body. Burnham's plan, to take T'Kuvma prisoner was dangerous but by no means a sure death sentence for Phillipa. She inserted herself into the boarding party. She and Burnham beamed to the Klingon ship, got into a fight with Klingons and Georgiou was killed.

I don't see how it was Burnham's fault unless you blame her for not protecting the captain. I have never felt Saru's anger was justified.

Hot damn that was a great episode! some decent bit of back story on Lorca, Stamets becoming the Mushroom whisperer, more random background characters we'll never know except through fanfic, Stamets and Hugo as a couple in a scene finally, and I really enjoyed the dialouge between Lorca and Mudd and Saru and Michael.

Burnham was the one pushing the captain to go to the ship.

Without her they probably would have just sent a couple security teams and won the day.

We're quoting Buffy now? I'm sure there must be some relevant Twilight quote you could have dug up :techman:

The escape from the prison ship seemed way too easy. Over power a couple of guards, fight your way to a shuttle bay and fly away with a few shuttles in pursuit. Can anyone just enter a Klingon shuttle bay, get in a shuttle and take off without authorization? Especially on a prison ship, carrying an extremely important prisoner with vital military tech for the war effort. Why didnt the prison ship itself pursue the escapees or use a tractor beam to stop their ship and recapture Lorca. Presumably the only way a shuttle can stop it is to destroy it. Could be the escape was a setup and Lorca's new friend is a spy.

There was a significant alliance of thirteen nations which were rebelling and forming their own independence that formed an alliance which worked out for them.

Oh and this thing where all of Europe united themselves into a Union.

    Oh and NATO.

Asserting one's national identity over a large national alliance isn't a thing which is inherently good or rationale or important.

Yes, cute is exactly the thing to go for when designing Klingon ships!

Though I've got a couple criticisms, I really enjoyed the episode.

Lorca leaving Mudd behind was pretty cold-blooded and left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, but it sure does let the audience know that he's from a different mold than the typical heroic Starfleet captain, just in case there were any doubts prior to this. Since Mudd'll be back, I have a feeling that decision may be something he'll end up regretting.

I don't want to sound too down on the look of the Klingons on the show, but with this episode, one big downside of the extensive makeup that I discovered is that I'm having a harder time identifying the characters. I got through the whole episode not realizing that the Klingon captain was L'Rell. I saw that I wasn't the only person who had this problem. It's cool that some people like the Klingons looking more alien, but I can't help feeling like it's kind of a shame that Mary Chieffo, who is not an unattractive woman, is completely buried under such hideous prosthetics. On the other hand, if she looked more like B'Etor or Grilka, the notion of her Starfleet prisoner being forced to satisfy her carnal desires might seem a little too much like some kind of sordid fantasy.

I think you need to re-read what I put in spolier code - [TLDR - yeah, I know that was my point. ;)]

This Episode was actually great... Love the character development in this episode. And glad it's not all about Michael Burnham only. (Though I like her character, the series wouldn't feel like Star Trek if it only revolved around her.)

What wrong with quoting Buffy? I haven't seen or read twilight so I wouldn't know.

Comparing Buffy with Twilight should be a crime of some sort.
