Can all canon and continuity flaws in Trek be explained away by characters being drunk or high?

Most of what are pointed out as continuity errors really aren't, and usually the explanation of a supposed error is more logical than calling it an error.

The same goes for Star Wars.

I find most people explanations of apparent continuity errors are huge reaches, even if they are technically feasible, they clearly weren't what the writer had in mind.

That may be, but this how I see it regarding most examples of continuity errors given here and elsewhere. Especially the ones that are frequently the topic of threads, like the Borg, the Ferengi, etc.

I watched the last episode drunk and high and still noticed the continuity errors. So no. Thread over, let's all go home.

I'll leave it up to everyone to decide whether I'm joking or not.:p
