Spoilers The Treatment of dead characters

I hate to seem dense, but since this is a Canadian show (filmed in Toronto), don't Canadian union rules apply rather than US ones? Although I'm sure they do work much the same.
That’s a good question. I imagine the Canadian guilds would apply for the local crew, but I would imagine SAG et al would be involved because the talent is US based and it’s a US production.

Sharma was better in Star Trek Continues.
Anyway, show hasn't been on long enough to talk about handling dead characters when none of them have been around longer than 4 episodes. That's really reaching.
I do think they handled Captain Georgiou's demise with great taste.

The hell? That supposed to be Gowron?

Not necessarily. I know despite being filmed in Canada, BSG had to suspend production during the WGA strike a decade ago since all or at least most of its writers belonged to the WGA. Meanwhile, at the same time, Stargate Atlantis was able to continue since they only had one writer with the WGA.

I really don't know how it works with Discovery, but it stands to reason there are probably enough writers with the WGA. The actors are likely all with the SAG, as even Canadian actors almost always join the SAG to help get them work in the US.

Yep. Federal tax credits from Ottawa, provincial credits from Queen's Park a couple of kilometres away from the soundstages as well going into this one, and Canadian unions on set. WGC, DGC, ACTRA. On-screen credits for accountants and catering services are a thing here too.
