Well, this season isn't exactly catching fire.

The S4 premier just about bored me to death. Unfortunately my room mate likes it so I am forced to "watch quietly, (without voicing criticisms) or leave the viewing area". I think I'll take up whittling.

I'm halfway through the fourth episode. It is still interesting to me, but not yet living up to the promise it showed at the end of season three.

Ironically, AMC is touting this as "the best show on television", or words to that effect, a strange way to describe a property that is running out the clock.

I have enjoyed it so far. The fifth episode has been my favorite so far. Overall I have loved this show. It was a replacement for Mad Men for me.....I am a fan of all the principle actors now... MacKenzie Davis, one could just drown in those eyes...:adore:

I felt it was coming in this episode. Especially, when they kept teasing a danger when he was working on the electrical problem.
So true, I was cringing the whole time, expecting him to electrocute himself, but I figured he had the brain issue under control.

Damn, I'm going to miss this show, it had a way of getting really good just before the end of each season.

^ Me, too! I think thinking he was going to electrocute himself but had temporarily forgotten about his medical problems--and then the screen went all lens-flarey & flashback city, and I knew... :( *sniffle*

I was thinking back to the first season--the characters I liked the most ended up being not so likable and the ones I hated, I now really like. And now with the Joe-Donna therapy-session after the attempted door-slam (ouch! that made me cringe), I kinda like all of them now. A good way for the show to go out, I think.

Not sure if I liked this last episode or not. We recently had to pack up the belongings of a departed family member, and .. yeah.

The last two episodes will air this Saturday at 9pm on AMC.

True. Bos and Joe were kind-of assholes, Gordon was moody and weird, Cameron was angry and impulsive, and Donna was the likeable one. I'm going to miss all of them.

I'm not sure how this story of tech innovation will end, does "Comet" become Google in this universe? Or one of the dozens of long-forgotten competitors?

All the characters definitely evolved over four season. I am glad all the principle actors were around the whole four seasons and even though they had their ups and downs they are now like family and Gordons death has reminded everyone of that.
I never thought during early season one that Joe and Gordon would end up pretty much best friends. Never thought Cam and Joe would end up where they are. We even got some character growth with Haley and Joanie....

Really gonna miss this show. It was my replacement for Mad Men and in some respects it was just as good if not better.

Favorite scenes of Episode 8.....
Cam and Donna finally making amends and through Gordon's death they realize they miss each other. Bos, Joe and the Chili and of Course Haley and Joe going to get the Green sweater and Fish Heads...lol

^That was a lovely ending, wasn't it? I wasn't expecting a happy ending for these characters but I'm glad we got one. Did NOT see that ending for Joe but was very pleasantly surprised. LOVED Donna's speech at the end; very timely.

I just finished the last episode.

A perfect ending, in every way.

Once again, thank you to AMC for giving this show one last season.
Absolutely agree. It was a positive ending that feels like all the surviving characters have a bright future ahead[our past two decades]. I thought we might have seen them all in a final scene set in 2017 telling us all what happened...

I really want to know what Donna's idea was, what did she see in the diner?

A flash-forward to 2017 would have been interesting, but then again Cam would be in her 50's now, Donna and Joe in their 60's, and Bos..

Loved it. The Silicon Valley name drops: Century 24, Winchester Mystery House and Foothill College made me nostalgic for the haunts of my youth.

Donna saw the guy go up to the jukebox and put coins into it. Donna had the "lightbulb" look on her face, so I thought it was obviously a hint about digital music.

Good catch Auntiehill, I get so caught up in the story that I often overlook small but important details like that. I would always have to hit the message boards to find out which easter eggs I missed on Lost, or more recently Reddit for Mr. Robot clues.

I can totally see Donna coming up with an iTunes model, where Cam would want to make something more like Napster.

Loved the finale. Joe teaching Humanities was a perfect ending for him. The pictures of Gordon, Cameron and Haley were very fitting in that scene....
