There's a co-incidental parallel to made with your choice of an Equinox wallpaper! 'Discovery' is going with a full on theme of what Voyager used in the Equinox episodes. Ransom exploited and harmed, in fact killed sentient beings for fuel, to get home. In Discovery Lorca (Captain of the starship Discovery) displays the same one-minded mania. He has this super sized targ creature that interacts with 'spore drive' technology. I kid you not. Now my own grasp of targ and spore fusion is a little on the .. what a load of rubbish.. side.. but hey, I'm like that - cynical. So 'Ripper' the name of the targ is capable of making ships jump, and spin, and do marvellous things in the war effort. It's a form of torture for the creature, but Lorca doesn't care :(

Saw it first on Voyager folks ;(

In watching the last 2 Discovery's episodes with Captain Lorca, I immediately thought to Captain Rudy Ramsom and his obsession to survive, whatever the means & actions employed! These both guys have no moral/ethics and it's often what run them in serious troubles (=death).

Ah, Lt Noah Lessing. A promising character who could have brought something if producers/writers had the ambition to invest in new characters. His open conflict with Janeway would have deserved to me more exploited through an arc where both would maybe find maybe, a common ground -> the respect & redemption (for Lessing, how to respect the person who put his life in danger & for Janeway, how to gain the respect of the person who pushed her her on a dangerous path, to the point of committing the irreparable.

But Lessing's character crossed Seven & Chakotay's path so, it would have been great to see Lessing's relationships with Seven (he still aided and abetted the kidnapping, knowing perfectly what fate his Captain reserved to her) and Chakotay (who saved him from Janeway's direct and deadly threat, at the last minute). And the, the Doctor could have been responsible for follow him after the psychological shock he lived (to be victim of a mock execution set, is not an easy task to face, I guess... though as a soldier, he should be able to support the bluff game), wouldn't it?!

    The titles are:

    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Temple of Doom
    The Last Crusade
    The Crystal Skull

There was also a short lived TV series in the early 90's IIRC The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

I can think of at least 2 instances where there are Star Wars Easter Eggs in scenes from the Indiana Jones movies.

Interesting. Not that I'm particularly interested in DISCOVERY or anything ... but thanks for the info anyway. THE ORVILLE seems to be more my type of show I guess ... but it'll take a while before I can watch it in Hungarian! :D
Thanks for the info. I don't collect anything re TV shows or films except Voyager cakes!:devil::devil: But I'm sure some people have found this information useful.
There's a B'Elanna-centered story with Lessing in the DISTANT SHORES anthology if that might be interesting for you. It's called OR THE TIGER.
Thanks. Does that mean I should start with RAIDERS?

Yes, it was the first one. I listed them in order of their release. I am partial to The Last Crusade because it co-stars Sean Connery as Indy's father. The father-son interactions are very entertaining IMO.

And there's B'Elanna in the dress that was the symbol of her prettiness! Very nicely done, Thomas ...

I like a lot The Orville contrary to ST: Discovery, which plays too much on special effects, IMHO (like JJ Abrams movies!). :)

I'm sure they could be! ;)

Well, I must admit not being fond of the non canon novels. I read 2 or 3 but,
I haven't managed to get me into the new situations, which do not agree with my idea of the military institution, which I experienced for many years and romantism that I believe in so strongly.

Every time I see a Hirogen or watch "Alter Ego", I get the impression that Maranya in "Alter Ego" must be a Hirogen or a member of a species related to them.

That's very interesting because we never got to see a female Hirogen.

Excellent wallpaper of Seven! I love that center pic of her... she looks pensive to me.
