I think he's been flying in the recent comics too.

As it happens, I just finished a rewatch of the 2003 Teen Titans animated series, and I did sometimes wonder why Cyborg couldn't fly. He had just about every other kind of tech installed somewhere in his body, so why not some thrusters?
Besides, this version of Cyborg is apparently based on Mother Box technology, so it stands to reason that he'd have exceptionally advanced abilities compared to Earth technology.
Hm... looks pretty lousy to me, but then, this final trailer for The Avengers is pretty bad, too:
Neither contains anything more than a hint of a story, but at least the Avengers trailer hits its climax with the group shot, whereas the Justice League one only brings three of them together at the end, with Bruce looking tired and annoyed at some character we still haven't been properly introduced to on the big screen. And while neither trailer gives much sense of its villain, audiences already knew Loki going into The Avengers, whereas the JL trailer doesn't even glimpse the Big Bad of that movie, so far as I could tell.

On that note, I hope beyond all hope that the movie Cyborg does not use that outdated and stereotypical expression.

This trailer is so epic. I hope the movie lives up! But I've liked all the DCEU so far, so I guess I'm easy to please.

That trailer looked painful. 90% of the movie is going to look like a cut-scene in a video game. Ugh, the shot with Cyborg catching Aquaman and flying him around? Yikes! That looked horrible. All of the angles and edges on Cyborg's CGI costume also makes him look like an object in an 3D game from the early 1990s.
This thing is going to be a slog. The only part that looks like it may work, again, is Wonder Woman.
