No, your fan rage. I know nothing of the comic, and no one is upset.

Dude, I saw a thread over this on another forum, like 2 or 3 years back. That was how I even knew who he was. You did not know who he was, so can't honestly say "No one was upset". Someone got "Fan ragey" enough to start a thread over it. It was a glorious rant about how Worf had killed him and stolen his place in Star trek lore. If you don't think fans do that kinda thing, you have not been around fans long.

Jeff Loeb said something like the fact, "If you kill even the most minor character in DC Comics, you will get death threats. I got one for killing Turner D. Century."

Oh yeah, I was over on the old Wotc forums when 4th edition came out and they nuked the Forgotten realms setting. They had to shut the novel section down as people where giving death threats to the writers. Not one or two, but dozens. I have seen this stuff go super nasty. Hell, I once saw a fist fight in real life over which ruleset of a game was better. So I laugh when I am told "No one was upset over x".

Hey man, I *HATED* the Spellplague but people should show some class.

Forget Spock's ears. THAT'S what getting your head caught in a mechanical rice picker looks like.

Now that's a #TrueKlingon.

(*All references to an alleged Augment virus involving a mutation of the Levodian flu which cosmetically altered the appearances of Klingons for more than a century are just Fake News*)

Thinking about it, a reboot would only happen if things categorically happen in DIS that will invalidate established canon in TOS and the other series. For example, if McCoy guest stars on the show and is then killed. This would invalidate TOS, meaning we were categorically in an alternate timeline. Anything less than that would be more a matter of interpretation.
Like open war between the Federation and the Klingons ten year before TOS? More on that here

Klingons having the bumpiest foreheads yet in a series set between an episode of ENT establishing human Klingons of TOS and TOS itself?

None of the Klingon or Federation starship designs seen thus far (30+ total) cropping up again in 225 years of in-universe Trek history?

Holographic technology which totally invalidates Star Trek: Voyager, set 110 years later? (Rewatch it, the Doc wouldn't care if he was a bit fuzzy as long as it meant he could leave sickbay, and the Sarek hologram leans on a table so they do have solidity)

This is how Trekkies look trying to explain all this.

Why is it important to establish that it's a reboot, if they say it isn't?

What are we to do with this revelation, that contradicts what the production team has said, repeatedly?

That's what I find more interesting. They said it's in the Prime Universe. I'm willing to roll with it and see where this goes, as I have every other time they have had design changes.

If you are not willing to roll with it, how does that reflect on your viewing experience?

No, but to be honest that's what they should have done. That way they could set a show in the 23rd century and not be beholden to continuity.

I said "no one is upset." I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but post after post(and thread after thread)of complaining about historical and potential complainers puts you right in their league, with simply a different focus for your derision and schadenfruede than theirs.

I respond when its brought up. So yeah people who whine about it not looking old makes me roll my eyes. On another site I had a guy pure out back peddle. Any change is a violation..but if they updated the way he wanted it magically was no longer a violation. People have had a year to come to terms with it not looking old. It was never gonna go the Kelvin route as the same people now upset killed that concept.

It is no my issue you are upset about me pointing out facts you do not want to hear. And yes, you were wrong when you said no one was Upset. People get upset if someone makes a mistake in a line or the show does not enshrine whatever fan canon they want them to. Its the nature of fandom.

Good grief
"No one is upset" The here, the now. This thread. What's the purpose of complaining about whiny fans in practically every post, mocking them at every opportunity. That makes you no better than they are.

In addition to that, making snide comments about posters here as general statements rather than directly to them as they are right here in the thread with you. It's derisive.

Then when you say "It's not my fault that you don't like hearing the facts." It's dismissive, and shows contempt. You aren't offering facts, you are looking for opportunities to ridicule hypothetical fans that complain, past, present, and future.

If this site, that we're on now, were filled with vitriolic, negative comments, you might have some sparring partners to vent your grievances on, but as it is, you are on smear campaign of straw men.

Son, I Pointed out to you I read someones rant thread about this guy not being canon. If you post a page long rant, you are upset. So you are incorrect and I am done responding to your snide comments directed at me. You are doing the very thing you are accusing me of, you went out of your way to single me out and mock me. Maybe because I hit a bit to close to home

So whatever, you have a good day.

Ok, that's the equivalent of saying "nuh uh, you are!"

I apologize for singling you out.

Yup. Most folks, pro and con, have been completely civil about why they like or dislike the show. Focusing on what does and doesn't work. Why they think the way they do.

It's a reboot. :p

And calm down. It's called an opinion. The producers say it's not, and promised an explanation. And if I want to call a potato a potawto that's my business anyway.

You can call a potato a potawto, but one of those pronunciations is correct and acceptable, the other isn't, and if you call it that, you're pretty damned stupid.
