I know what you mean...I don't mind negative reviews but the comments section on Youtube with anything Discovery related is more far more vile than usual. One tries not to look at it, but like a twisted body on the Glenn you cant help but notice.

Saw the 'user reviews' on IMDB again.... You really have to scroll through countless of 1/10, 2/10, 3/10 reviews before getting to something positive.... The Orville is the other way around, there's almost only 9/10 or 10/10 reviews. Of course, some here are saying 'Well, you may not like it, but DSC is not received well and Orville is', but I've always suspected something going on... It's also hard to explain a series that has a 7.3 rating on IMDB but getting almost nothing but 1/10 reviews.... Something is off, and not because I disagree... I honestly think there's a 'bury CBS' campaign... Remarks like 'crappy CGI' seem to confirm this, 'cause if there's one thing we can all agree upon, is that the CGI is not 'crap'...
Is bitching and moaning about other fans opinions? If there's one thing Star Trek fans love (besides bitching and moaning about change)...

Back to the OP, I like what I do, and dislike what I do. I am enjoying Discovery to a good degree (about eighty plus percent), but still dislike the uniforms as much as when the pictures started coming out.
People who dislike the show in general don't effect my position (but they're welcome to theirs), and people who absolutely love the uniforms do not change my views on the uniforms.
Way it is.

I know it's mixed, I don't care about that. It's mixed in here too. The whole point was that at IMdB, it's NOT mixed: it's 99% 1/10. That's far from 'pretty tepidly received' as you say, it's received as an awful trainwreck disaster... which is, imo, not a realistic reflection. All I'm saying and all I have been saying throughout this thread.Well, you may not like it, but Discovery has been pretty tepidly received and the folks who watch The Orville really like it. There's definitely some "hate watching" going on with Trek, but no one's gonna bother to hate watch McFarlane's show; it's not carrying the weight of much expectation.
Seriously, get out of Star Trek forums and look around at other places fans congregate. Check out Reddit, for one. The actual audience response to Discovery so far is mixed.
What difference does it make what the critics say as they and about 600 other people in the United States are the only ones who are going to be watching this program. Way to go CBS
