Kelvin Timeline all but confirmed

Falling back to speaking for others is usually an indication that one has no real points to use in the argument.

It is not speaking for others, it is stating an objective fact. This is prime, end of discussion. There is no wiggle room in this, you have been told dozens of times, the only argument you have is "But it does not look old or cheap" and that is not and argument for it not being canon. Keeping claiming something that is not true, no matter how many times you have been corrected is lying to yourself.

If you do not like this fact, stop lying to yourself.

This is prime, end of discussion

It isn't Prime. There's more to a universe than names and dates on a calendar. You know what is "Prime"? Uhura stating that she is frightened in one episode, then screaming when a member of the bridge disappears in another. You know what is Prime? Mini-skirts. You know what is Prime? Every system they go into being called a "solar" system. You know what is Prime? Anti-matter destroying the universe.

I can go on all day about stuff they simply can't or won't replicate that is "Prime" from TOS, that has nothing to do with the look of the series that you seem more hung up on than anyone.

There is also no way a mere "refit" transformed every aspect of the Enterprise, right down to its superstructure. That wasn't a refit. That was a brand new ship.
I beg to differ. I present to you HMS Victorious - Illustrious class aircraft carrier.

After major refit and reconstruction. Same ship

And there is the lie you tell yourself. When the people who own the IP tell you it is prime, the discussion is done. It is prime. There is no wiggle room in this stated fact.

You didn't much answer my points. You just fall back to "CBS says so!!!"

Do you not watch things and interpret things for yourself? Never gotten something out of a novel that the writer didn't intend?

You think its Prime? I've got no problem with that. More power to you. Me? There's too much difference after fifty years for it to be Prime. For me, the proof is in the pudding.

Yep. If it's the same keel, it's the same ship. It's been that way for centuries.

@Mirror Mirror please remember to respect others' opinions on the topic. Disagreeing with you does not constitute lying, either to oneself or to us.

Saying its not prime after the People who own the IP says it is, in fact is lying to themselves. I am not trying to be disrespectful, but its just like flat earthers. At some point they have to understand they are lying to themselves. Pointing out facts is not being rude. But if you think its to close to the line, I will stop using that phase.

They own the IP, so the objective fact is, they do in fact say so. They get to decide what is and is not canon. This is simply how the world works man. They own Star Trek, they get to decide what it looks like, what events are and are not canon and what is and is not prime. When the show runners and the people who owns the IP said "this is prime, set 10 years before TOS in the same universe" it became fact.

You refusing to accept this fact, does not magically make it not fact.

The issue is TMP is not the same Keel. It is a new Secondary hull, New Saucer, New neck, New core, , new Pylons, New nacells. It is longer, it has more decks, it has wider and taller corridors. There is simply no way, that is the same ship. Nothing is left of the old ones at all.

Whoa! Paramount says it is a refit, so it is OBJECTIVE FACT that it is a refit! :guffaw:

I have come to the belief that this is the Prime Universe. That does not necessarily mean the Prime Timeline. There are so many incursions into the timeline, so many little changes, the TOS-TNG-DS9-VOY Timeline is the first relatively intact version of the Prime Timeline. There was an NX-01, perhaps the Dauntless. But things, Cochrane meeting the Enterprise-E crew changed things. The 22nd century front of the Temporal Cold War changed things even further. So much so, in fact, what we see in Discovery looks far more advanced. Perhaps the events of TOS-TNG-DS9-VOY still happen. They just may look a little different.

(A far more complex way of suggesting a visual reboot.)

There is no Phase II ship in canon. Sorry. You get the no prize.

It does not matter, have you seen the Phase II ship? The TMP ship is the same size and shape. There is simply no way it is the same ship., unless TOS was wrong. But those movies are full of errors and fans have been trying to make them work for ages.
