Um, if that's the case - why didn't they use Jonathan Simpson (who played 'Sarek' in ST2009) to reprise the Sarek role for ST: D? (ST09 and ST...In that respect, it's sort of relevant that Zachary Quinto was in no way involved in filming the first season. As far as we know, and we should know. Pike can be whomever, Number One can be whomever, but the studio should be interested in the face of Quinto first and foremost here.
So we're probably talking second season gimmick at best. But when that one rolls, all the above applies in full.

Zachary Quinto is the JJ Abramsverse Mr. Spock. were they to use him for the same part in ST: D if would just fan the flames of controversy and have some fans screaming - "See ST: D DOES take place in the JJ-Verse!"
That said, I'd be surprised if we saw Spock at all in this first season. He's on another ship in another part of the galaxy during these events, or they would have had teh 1701 (under Pike) show up to the Boarder.
(I don't care what an encylcopedia says)
Semi reandom thought. What if USS Kelvin and George Kirk appeared?
But you can always mentally justify the physical appearance and aesthetics of the Kelvin as being those of a starship designed and launched in the early 23rd century and thus a product of a previous era. Frankly I'm not worried about those fanboys because nothing will satisfy them short of the entire series being reshot with TOS-style control interfaces and pullover tunics with rank braids on the sleeves.
Some fans are probably a hopeless cause at this point so it's best to do what ties DSC and TOS more closely together in the continuity and creates the best drama for viewers. Focus on what connects the new to the old and gives the audience the most entertaining and engaging stories. The hypernerds will never admit defeat but the producers can give everybody a show so good that the whinging of a small minority will barely be heard nor acknowledged.
No it wouldn’t. It looks similar to the NXThey would just take the Kelvin as proof its in the Alt reality. Also the Kelvin would need reworked as the textures are way off what DSC is using.

My mistake - but the point was - they could have gotten the actor who played Sarek in JJ Abrams Star trek to reprise the role for this series but didn't - ergo, there's no reason to assume they would try and tap Zachary Quinto to do the role (if they ever decided to have a 'Mr. Spock' cameo of full scene) for ST: D.You're thinking of Ben Cross from Star Trek 09 (2240s flashbacks and 2258). Jonathan Simpson played young Sarek (2230s flashback) in Star Trek V. That was almost thirty years ago, so he's probably too old now (and a professional photographer and acting coach who's most famous role is still Star Trek V).
Texture wise, not it does not. The design forms are fine, but nacell design, Deflector design and textures are all unique to the JJ films. Its just something that stands out as glaring. In DSC the walker class is the same era as the Einstein class( I think the class name is canon). Its a whole different projection and art direction.
They did. Both in kelvin(except the big E) and in the two DSC ones we have seen. They are totally differing art directions.None of the ships in the episodes had a consistent design language, so why would it matter here?
