Looks like Battlestar Galactica. :/ Cast wasn't lying about the 'gritty' direction.
NC represent!I absolutely love this trailer. It's possible that I love it more than tonight's episodes. It fills me with thrills but feels like Trek.
Pretty much this. I don't get BSG from that at all. I get 'this is how we rise above rather than wallow in self pity'. I like the 'war's effect on the little guy' thing. I like the implication that Burnham's rehabilitation won't be a Tom Paris overnight job. I like that we seem to have another female captain/leader to interact with. Yes there's a lot of combat in it, but there was in the trailers for the pilot, too, and actually that was maybe 10% of the episode.I absolutely love this trailer. Yes, we're in a dark place right now. This is the story of how we rise above it. The world needs those kinds of stories right now, populated with characters who want good things.
I'm not completely sold on the 'her mutiny started the war' thing. She made a target lock on the Klingon ship, certainly, but Georgiou had already done that earlier on, on the torch thingy. I think it would have been much more impactive if she had caused the ship to fire. Presumably, we are supposed to infer that to her (and probably to others) if she had acted differently, the situation would have not spiralled out of control. There is some reality to the idea that the general belief about an event is not actually accurate, or relies heavily on assumption. Essentially, we are seeing a public hate figure, vilified in the court of public opinion as much as by the facts.I'm still trying to figured out what exactly it is she's rehabilitating from - besides self-pity. She was in the brig when the shit went down.

I'm definitely more open to the idea having seen that, yes. I'd still rather it was Joe Bloggs the new character, but I think I'll like this new version. And the whole prison thing means his being introduced seems to make a lot more sense.Oh, BTW, I'm completely sold now on Harry Mudd. His moment here is awesome.
Yeah, my wife just tweeted me exactly the same thing. Here's a random trivia fact. The Netflix episodes come with Klingon subtitles.
There are no pre-rendered subtitles on Netflix. You actually have the option of watching the complete episodes with Klingon subtitles.Do you mean subtitles in the actual playback on top of the pre-rendered ones?
