If Spock makes a cameo in this, should they use Zachary Quinto?

If in one of the episodes they show Spock, should they use Zachary Quinto?

Yes, I know this isn't set in the Kelvin timeline, but even in the prime timeline I accept that when Spock was young he looked like Zachary Quinto. Why do I think this? Because in Star Trek: Beyond Kelvin Spock looks at a photo from prime Spock's timeline which shows a picture of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Uhura, Chekov, Scotty, and Sulu circa Star Trek V. Thus, I also accept that once the Kelvin Enterprise crew become older they will look like Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley, Nichols, Koenig, Doohan, and Takei.

No. Spock is in his twenties in Discovery's timeline. Quinto is forty. Plus the Trek V photo is of the prime timeline crew specifically because Spock Prime was from that timeline. Doesn't mean Pine & Co will end up looking like Shatner & Co.

I'd rather not see Spock to be honest.

Quino is too old.

This is 10 years before Where No Man has been Before, and Quinto is currently ten years past the point when he should have crashed into the galactic barrier.

Quinto is 2 decades too old to play a 25 year old Spock.

(Zach is only 40.)

Honestly, I think he looks great for his age. I'm 30, and I feel like I'll look like 2017 Zachary Quinto in four more years at best. I say go for it. But I also say maybe don't go for it, because I don't really have any great urge to see Spock. Love the character to pieces, but still.

I think they could use Quinto, Nimoy was 34 when he played Spock in The Cage, and age on screen, especially under heavy make-up, is easily vague enough to cover the difference between Nimoy-Spock's age in this time frame and Quinto's current IRL age - look at the actors who portray 'teenagers' on the CW  . Quinto is such a good Spock that I think it would be a shame to recast again. I don't buy the 'they look different because it's an alternate timeline' anyway, they just recast the roles. Just like Tom Hardy doesn't look like the guy who played Ensign Picard in Tapestry.

Who could play future Spock that comes back in time.

Future Spock that comes back in time, knocks history off course, and suddenly he has a human sister that isn't supposed to be there, that may have dislodged his own conception.

The Temporal Cold War has many victims. Guys, gals, you're sleeping on the Admiral Anderson reveal, I'm calling it now.

(On-topic though, I am kind of gradually wanting Quinto!Spock to appear now. What about Sulu too? His actor's a TV fellow.)

Didn't he already say he's not interested?

I'd be all for it. I don't think they can do better. (I mean, as re-castings go, it's one of the best of all time IMO - for anything.) And I don't think the age thing is a problem. Like others have said, the guy looks great for his age. And there's always makeup. But there's also the potential artifice that Vulcans age differently than humans.

Synergy.

Someone already from the CBS stable.

We want a young, slight, tall dark haired boy to play a 25 year of Spock.

Jim Parsons? (fuck me, he's 44.)

I looked though the CBS line up, and they don't have any good looking b-list men in their 20s.

Sad. :(

Oh!

Ryan Cartright from Kevin can wait, Bones and Alphas.
