Both Vic Mignogna and Michele Specht (Star Trek Continues' Dr. McKennah) were invited.
That may have been designed to diss Alec Peters.

Sure. But my point was that it seems to me like Wheaton would be the kind of person they'd want on top of the list. There's only so many people who can be at a premiere. If you think about the number of people who have been involved in Trek, even limiting it to big players, that's a big guest list, and you haven't even started on the show you're actually premiering.

They also provide voices in Star Trek Online.
Yet they left off David Mack who wrote the novel and helped the writing team.
That one could have been an honest oversight. Then again, tie-in authors don't really get the respect they deserve from the higher ups, at least I don't think so.Yet they left off David Mack who wrote the novel and helped the writing team.

yes that is confusing.
They should have invited Jonathan Goldsmith.I'm pretty miffed that red shirt #74 from TOS wasn't invited. I mean, his character died onscreen for cryin' out loud!

You'd think that Kirsten Beyer would be the first one to go "um guys, we're missing someone".
Good point. Still, I doubt there was any malice in it when it comes to David Mack. You'd think that Kirsten Beyer would be the first one to go "um guys, we're missing someone".
Was she invited?![]()
According to the official site she was there: http://www.startrek.com/article/discoverys-world-premiereGood question.
Star Trek.com said:Kirsten Beyer (Discovery Writer)
“Nineteen months later… it’s totally surreal," Beyer said, "but I’m also so excited for people to finally see it. I think they’re going to be blown away?” By what? “How current it actually feels, while at the same time totally being Star Trek.”

Muhuhwahwa!!Ah hell with it. I'm already here.
Tis an eclectic group, no doubt. There was the couple responsible for the write in campaign that helped bring star trek back as well as Bill Nye. So kind of all over the place
That's the point I was trying to make. From the super obvious to the "well I guess that makes sense". A very wide range of people invited it's weird they'd forget someThat's Bjo and John Trimble. CBS wouldn't dare not invite them.
She also wasn't happy with the way GR rewrote the "Encounter At Farpoint" TNG pilot script. She didn't do any further work for/with GR or TNG after that either.Wasn't Fontana pretty critical of Sybok back in the day? Anyone know her thoughts on Burnham's place in Spock's family?
Maybe he already saw the actual Pilot episode in a private screening (It's been done for quite some time, and they might have screened it for him so he could get a sense of how the characters are to better write the novel?); and thus they figured "He's seen it..."If Mack was helping them out, he should have been there. Beyer should have made noise to make it happen. Or the EP's.
I've wondered if anyone took DC's temperature on this Burnham business, she as much if not more than anyone defined Spock's familial relationshipsWasn't Fontana pretty critical of Sybok back in the day? Anyone know her thoughts on Burnham's place in Spock's family?
