The supernova puts on a giant pair of glasses, and then everyone thinks it's a regular mild-mannered nova.
But does a red sun actually turn a supernova back into nova?

And then things will happen as a reaction to the things that happened in response to the supernova and characters will react to the things that happened in response to the things that happened because of the supernova. There will be a supernova. Things will happen. Characters will react to those things.
We were talking about just calling it, "Carl."
Many cases of transwarp sunburn in the surviving Romulan Empire. So does anyone want to speculate the affects the supernova will have IU in the novels?
Sweet shit, can you imagine? The Romulan Praetor looks up at the supernova without special glasses, is mocked on social media throughout the quadrant.

"The concept of the Hobus supernova was created by and for the Vulcans in order to make IRS manufacturing non-competitive"Sweet shit, can you imagine?
Nero: "Ambassador Spock and I have learned the Hobus star will-"
Praetor: "Fake news! This is fake news!"
Doesn't he already have a copy of Spock's mind, though? Heck, if anything, his mind is closer to the original source than Spock Prime's. Think about it. Spock's mind was transferred into Spock 2 by Keniclius's machines, then transferred back into Spock by mind meld. So that means Spock had a second-generation copy of his own mind while Spock 2 had only a first-generation copy. And then Spock died and uploaded his mind into McCoy, so the katra in McCoy's head was third-generation, and that means when it was put back into the regenerated Spock (arguably also a clone of the original), that made it a fourth-generation copy -- and given how scattered his memories are, we can conclude it's not a lossless transfer. So the Spock 2 clone's mind is at least three generations closer to the source than Spock Prime's.
Of course, this isn't counting the time Spock's mind was transferred to a big shiny globe and then into Nurse Chapel before being put back in his head, since that was before the cloning and thus doesn't affect the difference in generations between the two Spocks.
Should that ever happen, I may have a chance to read the entire novelverse in my lifetime!I apologize if my enthusiasm seems a little overbearing.
But I do worry the novelverse will have to be rebooted given Trek TV appears to be gearing up.
They need to press forward and wrap everything up and get as far as possible before that happens in my humble admittedly unlearned opinion.
But as I said, that's not an issue, so again: Relax. Breathe regular.![]()
Even if a reboot of the novel line was required (and so far that's very much not the case...there's not even a hint of that sort of thing), the likelihood of being able to "wrap up" anything is pretty small. It'd take way too much time to plan and execute, whereas the priority would be for future books to focus on the new direction. For a similar example, see what happened with the Star Wars books.
But as I said, that's not an issue, so again: Relax. Breathe regular.![]()
The existing novelverse is more than capable of dealing with any so-called "inconsistencies" that may turn up in DSC. No reboot or relaunch will be necessary.
Discovery is an alternate timeline confirmed! My Discovery predictions:
"There are two Andorian sexes."
"The NX-02 Columbia served with distinction for decades and Captain Erika Hernandez died in her sleep at the age of 96."
"Elias Vaughn? No, no one by that name will ever be born."
"Omne was the greatest threat the Federation ever faced."
"You have to read 533 Star Trek books before you can read Articles of the Federation."
"Omne was the greatest threat the Federation ever faced."
