News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

It's genetically engineered with Tardigrade DNA, so it can survive in almost any environment. They set that up earlier in the show.
Yes, I know. It wasn't subtle. And still ridiculous (where's the 100 years worth of sunlight and carbon dioxide coming from?), but as I said...it's just a gag and not worth getting in a tizz over.

It would be so great if The Orville did a parallel universe episode where they cross over to the real TNG universe. Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner or Jonathan Frakes could guess star. Imagine the possibilities!

I'd love it if they guest stared as the command crew of the Planetary Union's Flagship :D

That would be great! I am imagining the flagship would be a big and powerful ship that would make the Orville look puny in comparison. And Mercer would feel insecure about the size of his ship.

The scene practically writes itself:
The flagship appears on the view screen. It is massive.
Malloy: Look at the size of the flagship!
Mercer (looking a bit uncomfortable and defensive): Hey, it's not the size of a starship that matters. It's how you use it!
Grayson (shoots Mercer a little wink): Sure honey!

LOL

I think this is the trailer for the next episode, "Command Performance". Is it just me or does this trailer de-emphasize the humor and ramp up the action? In any case, looks pretty good.

I think the first bit of this trailer is for the second episode, with scenes from more upcoming episodes. This was aired right after the pilot, and to me looks like a "sizzle reel" for what's coming this season, like a lot of new series do.

But overall, I like what I see, loved the pilot episode, and am really happy that there is a fun Sci Fi series on TV! Let's hope FOX doesn't screw it up like they have before with Sci Fi shows! I'd rather watch more of this type of series than the "talent show of the month"!

Star Trek's Discovery and the Seth's Trek inspired Orville reminds me of the mid-'80s television series Blue Thunder based on the film and the advanced helicopter inspired Airwolf television series debuting the same year. Airwolf lasted four seasons and Blue Thunder lasted only one season.

Thirteen hundred hours ships time. Wait, thats.....one pm.

Reminds me of Colonel Henry Blake:
But, General, you promised us help by noon.
Well, what time is it now? Well, now, that's after noon, isn't it, sir? I mean, isn't it 12 up until it gets to be noon, and then you start all that "hundred hours" stuff?
I wish the army would tell time like everybody else.

I thought it was serviceable. I laughed out loud a few times. I think it would have been better served at 30 minutes, but this is definitely a new guilty pleasure.
