Star Trek DSC Shenzhou bridge set construction time-lapse

Because it was set on the bottom of the saucer, the bridge had to be elevated. Just one of many differences to the old tv bridges.

Awesome. Loved the music too.

If this is the style...from any part of the series...I vote yes!

I love the effect of the underside windows. Apart from the greenscreen work needed to build that, they must be planning to use them for space shots in a few episodes to justify it. It's going to be weird getting used to a bridge space directly under their feet, visibly too.

Godsdamn, that was cool. I'm glad someone had the foresight to produce such an extensive time lapse. I was especially wowed by the camera pans over a long period of time.

Ohh, that's a point. Assuming the ship does appear in all of season 1 as rumoured, entering orbit would be a sight to see.

Well they've already said they've shot Discovery and Shenzhou shots on the same set, having to swap peices out. If the Shenzhou was only going to be in a couple episodes, one would think they'd film all those scenes first so they wouldn't need to swap parts around.

The bridge sets are totally independent. Yes, from what I'm told, Shenzhou isn't destroyed early.

There is a shot of the ship's plaque in there, it seems to be a combination of the kelvin Timeline plaques and Movie/TNG era plaques.

Everything above the block of names is laid out the same as the Kelvin Timeline plaques.

I can't place the music, and none of the music-matching apps can match it. Anyone know it, or is it like Two Steps From Hell-type stuff? I don't think they'd leak Discovery music yet.

It does have a Two Steps from Hell kind of vibe, and that works very well for the timelapse IMO. I personally can't place it.

I could see them releasing a single piece of Discovery music this early, but IDK if this is it. The official 2009 Star Trek movie website had "Hella Bar Talk" from the final soundtrack playing in the background, FWIW.

Most of the time these days using GoPro or DSLR cameras for timelapse it is done in 4k, 6k, or as many megapixel still images so the resolution is there to make a camera pan, tilt, or a camera move in post production once the motion playback speed is set.
a GoPro Hero5 has 4k video or 12MP stills.

I need to see something like this for the Discovery too - and full confirmation of it being the Walker Class, I see. I'd seen some say it was just the artists 'pet-name' for the ship design.
