Deep Space Nine reference

So, I do a lot of tweeting and occasionally tweet to some of the Discovery crew. Surprisingly, they'll respond to me. I joked with head writer Ted Sullivan that I was pretending one of the lines from the recent trailer was a nod to DS9. Captain Lorca says, "fortune favors the bold," and he wrote back to me saying that not only did he write that line, but I was correct. He was referencing DS9. :guffaw:

I disagree with both sides of this argument!
Oh don't get me wrong, I love Sisko and Brooks' weird vibe. But holy crap could it not pull me right out of the episode. Although I'll give him credit for not always being robotic like every other human on in Trek.

Lets just hope they don't drag down the greatness that was DS9 with a poor imitation.

Thankfully, from what we've seen sofar, it doesn't look that way. :D

PS: Yes, I was being snarky to people who complain to much about a show that hasn't aired yet. ;)

I disagree with your argument, AND all the previous arguments in this thread. :shifty:

I disagree that this is called an argument!!
I know, doesn't make sense. I just really wanted to be part of this little conversation.

So if we got a writer who was a DS9 fan I can only wonder if this means we will get some Section 31 stuff along with Carddisians or Bajorans or Trill. Almost anything else would not likely fit in the time period. Also if this is going to be more edgy Trek someone should use "It's easy to be a saint in Paradise" because SIsko's line basically describes the entire point of the series.
