I think it's hilarious that anyone who has seen and enjoyed an episode of Star Trek, particularly from TNG on, would criticize acting in the franchise as "stilted" as if this is something new and unacceptable.
Yeah, everybody was stilted in S1 of TNG, even the great Sir Patrick. They got better.
Stewart got better. I'd say most of the others did not. At least not considerably.
90s Trek is filled with overly-formalized behavior and acting. It's like it's own style. It doesn't really bother me, but for people to criticize Trek now for this is pretty laughable.
Sonequa? Michelle sounds really stilted to me, but I think that pausing ..as you... say something.. ..and then saying it faster, is a Trek thing.Anyone else think the main character's speech is a bit stilted? Is it because she was raised as a Vulcan or am I the only one thinking this?
Who's Michelle?Sonequa? Michelle sounds really stilted to me, but I think that pausing ..as you... say something.. ..and then saying it faster, is a Trek thing.
Ah. I kept forgetting she's in the show. Probably because I think she's a dead Captain walking.Michelle Yeoh.
It's not a criticism. It's an observation.I think it's hilarious that anyone who has seen and enjoyed an episode of Star Trek, particularly from TNG on, would criticize acting in the franchise as "stilted" as if this is something new and unacceptable.
