As we all know all of Trek is nothing more than the vision and writings of a 50's sci-fi writer named Benny Russell who had a nervous breakdown because of the racism he faced and was locked up. Well he clearly continued to write. "Voyager" inconsitency can be explained away by the fact that he was on some heavy medication I would imagine while being a patient. "Enterprise" was his first working gig after finally being released and he knew he needed to play it kind of safe because he clearly wasn't going to get a good gig after being locked up at first. Proably some smut rag or something so he went back to a white captain and some unnessary sex stuff to apease his bosses. The Kelvin UNiverse of course means by this point he was living in the 60's so he must have started to get into the counter culture and wanted his stories to be wild and vibrant to win over the hippies.
That means "Discovery" must be coming from him in the very late 60's or early 70's. Now he is part of the civil rights movement and trying to make a stand so his writing will reflect that. A strong black female lead. gay characters and what I still think is space weed in that one scene. The white captain who has villian written all over him represents "the man" and the klingon conflict is his commentary on Vietnam. It will be interesting to see what Trek becomes once he reaches the DIsco era of the 70's.
