Dark Matter Season 3

I wonder if it was exclusively Syfy's call. After all, this was a co-production of Canada's Space network and Syfy, while Killjoys is just Syfy. And Killjoys got renewed while DM didn't. So I wonder if Space had a say in the decision to cancel.

Or maybe it's just that Syfy decided to focus their resources on the show they fully owned rather than the one they had to split the profits from.

Space isn't involved in the production of Killjoys but it's parent company Bell Media is.

It was a Syfy call.

Very sad for the producers, for the crew and the cast.

And it's a shame that the story didn't get the 5 seasons it needed and deserved.

too bad. I've kind of given up on Killjoys, so I'll have to get my sf fix from The Orville I guess.

^There's still the Expanse.
Disappointed to hear about the cancellation, it wasn't one the best things on TV, but I did enjoy and I will miss it.
Hmm, I wonder if they might be able to at least tie up the cliffhanger in a comic? The show was already based on a comic written by Mullie and Malozzi, so they do have a relationship with Dark Horse.

Knowing TV, I wouldn't be surprised if Syfy and/or Space and/or Prodigy and/or yet other entities that may hold some rights to DM would block it...

Just saw the news on deadline.com. Damn. I will admit that S3 did not hold my interest as closely as the first two but I really dug the characters and concepts that Dark Matter brought forth. I wonder if there is some way they can tie things up. I hate to be left hanging.

To quote William Munny, "Deserve's got nothing to do with it."

Sad news, and I'll definitely miss it.

Now we'll never find out if the aliens from the other dimension also have spaceships with interiors that resemble Toronto malls and warehouses. (Though now that I type that out, it did seem like there was less of that this season, wasn't there?)

On the cliffhanger side, we already saw the future. We know the good guys win.

Crapcrapcrapcrap. Sure it wasn't the best-plotted show out there, but I really like all the characters and the people who played them. There weren't enough good spaceship shows, then there were some fun ones, now there's one less.

Anyone come across comments from the producers about the cancellation and whether they are looking for another financial backer?

If the sets have to come down right away there's no chance but if they have some time there perhaps we could get luck.

Afterall Timeless was canned then uncanned though I guess that was on a bigger network.
