Lorca: Fans Will Have To Adjust

'I look forward to having them outraged..'

So? This is not baiting. They have been outrage since day 1. They got more so because it did not look like a fanfilm. He baited no one, he pure out stated he was going to enjoy the outrage by a tiny group of aholish diehards.

The 'outrage' seems to be catching.

Of course he's stirring. Who else but these fans are going to read him let alone care? It's all part of creating interest.

Which, isn't Issac's fault. He's just observing, and opining.
It's not about fault but he put it out there.. why? Publicity, stating the obvious, getting in first. Stick something out in the public domain that narrows things down to a one group and don't be surprised if they react.

It's redundant in the end, unless by some miracle the die-hards do stop watching and their numbers impact revenue. Doubt if that will happen.

I find nothing more loathesome than a self-hating fan.

The thing with that idea is that CBS doesn't want fans to watch, they want fans to watch in a very specific way.

On CBS all access.

He's great. People love to overreact about a whole lot of bullshit. I love that he speaks his mind but at the end of the day, if you're offended, who gives a shit what he thinks. All that really matters is what the show is.

Trek fans really relish the idea of the thing they love failing. It's super weird.
I don't think I've seen this in any other fandom. At least not to the degree you see it in Trek fandom. It is indeed super confusing. The best thing CBS can do is really expand the Trek fanbase and keep expanding it and providing new and different experiences. We've seen what happens when they stick to the same formula over and over again.
