Poll Rate the USS Discovery's looks

I gave it a solid "B".

I actually love most of it, the nacelles are simply too long.

Out of the 3 starships we've seen, I rank them:

1. Shenzhou- With its dazzling, Syd Mead-like good looks
2. Europa- I always say the parts of the Trek ships will basically always wind up looking like each other because of the usual components, and these usually just exchange shape or location. Europa looks the least like any of these usual configurations. Go team.
3. Discovery- Nice design. The saucer is instant iconography..it'll stand out forever in the pantheon of main hero ships of the series. Only those pesky nacelles keep it from being better.

Thought the teaser version was terrible and they've made it worse.

Though whether I like the ship doesn't mean I won't like the show. DS9 is by far my favourite series, but for the majority of its run I did not like the design of the station at all.

It doesn't make sense when the Romulans did it, and I don't expect this to make sense either.

At least, that's my view.

I voted "C." I don't exactly love the design aesthetically, but the clunky industrial look obviously fits its purpose as one of the second-rate "workhorse" ships of the fleet.

It looks its best staged with all the production values giving it presence and animation. However, it's proportions are heavy and like something a child made up.

Going with C - Looks good at warp.

At some point in time someone (a character in dialogue, a producer or writer) needs to explain why there has to be those huge gaps in the saucer section.

I'm interested in hearing what logic or supposed functionality it brings.

It's behind the original Enterprise, the refit, and the Ent-E for me, but far better than the other designs.

I like the testbed idea. I've been wondering if it is an amalgamation of the four major Federation powers combining their efforts.
