These promotional pics look very much like The Orville

I went with "B. Nice" ... overall, I like the ship. I'd rather the underside showed more curves and the nacelles were a little shorter and 'bulkier' ... they look too slender and slight.

My big beef is with the grotesque monstrosities of the Klingon ships. I still can't figure out what I'm looking at there and would prefer more of the original look instead of that rampage through a junkyard.

Great pictures.
OT, I wanted to mention for some time, I love your avatar @M! :)
Thank you, @Beagleman! The idea was to draw Michael Burnham in the cute style of the Star Wars – Forces of Destiny shorts. I had fun doing that, but I think I should update her hair to better represent Sonequa's hairdo on the Discovery.

Sorry for going a little off-topic, folks!

Awesome either way !:techman:

It's by far not the worst design. But it still leaves much to be desired. There's a weird mix of aesthetics (overly boxy, brutish underbelly, overly long, intricate, spikey pointed nacelles), and the cut-outs annoy me.

But the ship has character. It's definitely a unique design. And with some minor changes (smoothen the underbelly, create some new, forward pointing nacelles, and get rid of the cut-outs) it could actually be one of the very best Star Trek designs we have ever seen!

I agree with the Trekyard guys that it is a nice looking ship but the length of the warp naccels looks odd.

Seriously, though, I give the ship an "A". I've always liked the McQuarrie-prise, and the refinements made to this one make it look even better, It manages to fit in with the era and still look sleek and futuristic. My only criticism would be the donut saucer, but I'm sure there's an in-story reason for it beyond "It looks kewl" (perhaps the center section can detach and land), but it's no big deal either way.

It is growing on me......was NOT a fan to start with even though I knew what it was based off of. Definitely better than the way it looked in that first trailer from last year.
This. I really didn't like it in the teaser, and in fact I've always thought the design they based it in was ugly and correctly relegated to the Star Trek design studio in the sky.
However, the more I've seen of the refinements, the less I've hated it, and I'm probably up to 'meh' at this point.
Voted C. After 5 pints, she's a beut.
