Avengers Infinity War (and beyond) anticipation thread

I watched an interview IGN's Terri Schwartz did with Joe Russo and when she asked about the footage being posted online, he did say it would be, but didn't say when.

Grab it while it's hot.. leaked Infinity War Trailer from SDCC (bad quality but it's still awesome.. can't wait for the full HD trailer)

Damn, it's already gone. :(

Good to know that Russo says it will be released at some point. Hopefully we don't have to wait long.

While I'm sure the film will be a lot of fun, they struggle to give everyone something meaningful to do in the Avengers movies, so when you add in the Guardians too it's likely gonna be a bloated mess where everyone gets to say their catchphrase and maybe if they're lucky do one cool thing and then wont be seen again.

You say that like it's an inherently bad thing. :p

Seriously though, I'm perfectly happy with there being a lack of depth in a movie like this. The whole point of it is that it *is* an overblown mess of an action extravaganza, by design.
It's the same with the comics really. The meaty character development and compelling storylines are almost always in the solo titles. With these giant crossovers, it's just a mass of flashy, densely detailed splash pages spread over a tissue-paper thin plot.
It's a spectacle, nothing more nothing less and that's just fine.

By that point the character development is pretty much done, we all know the backstories of the main heroes through their solo movies and we know how they tick so why waste time on it? This promises to be a balls to the wall movie even more so than the Avengers movies as it is the culmination of the entire MCU. The fallout, especially if there are major character deaths (most likely those whose contracts are done after this) will be relegated to solo movies again.

Yeah, I think we've gotten more than enough build up and development in the earlier movies for this one to just go all out with the action and craziness this time.

I think it is. Hopefully, the prediction about the movie will be wrong.

Oh no! I hope you're wrong. I so hope that you're wrong. All action and quips, but with no character development? Oh God! That would be a mess I don't want to see. I hope that you're wrong.

How much depth and character development does one expect to find in a slapstick comedy? Do people ride roller-coasters to engage in self reflecting and ponder on what it means be human and the objective nature of reality?
OK, some prat probably does, but that's besides the point. Some things are just meant to be *fun* and *entertaining* (and *profitable*!)

I assure you than under no reasonably conceivable circumstances will anyone force you to watch this, or any other movie against your will.

The best action movies I have seen usually possessed a good deal of character and narrative development. Even the so-called "roller coaster rides". If the Infinity War turns out to simply be a "fun" and "entertaining" film with no depth or development, I really don't see myself being entertained. However, I suspect that character and narrative development will be included in the movie.
