*Potential Spoilers* What will the Alternate Enterprise-A look like

Given what happened to the NCC-1701, extra point defense would be logical.

Though it could likely use some on the secondary hull to protect the neck and nacelle struts.

There are two phaser turrets directly on the rear of the saucer section above the impulse engine to protect the nacelle struts. The bottom of the saucer also has phaser turrets all along the edge of the saucer to protect the neck.

Nightfever (Alexander Klemm) has finished his CG model of the 1701-A. He's posted these two renders, but has promised more on the way, and he's going to relase his CG model to the public. He had reference of the movie CG model, so his shapes are highly accurate. I plan to do all sorts of renders when he releases it. Enjoy!

Gorgeous renders! Are there any higher resolution versions available?

It wasn't. He had references of the actual studio model. His recreation is 95% accurate I'd say.
Thanks Pixel.........these are amazing for fans of the new "A".... especially as we wont see an actual model sold anytime soon. Couple of things- u said u believe its 95% accurate- what is the 5% thats not?

Also, it's obvious the new "A" has been up gunned- I am surprised they added from what I can tell NO phaser turrets to the secondary hull. Which leaves blind spots below in different areas. Any thoughts on this? Especially since if the secondary hull had to separate it would only have photon torpedoes for defense....

I like this ship a lot. Can see tweaks IF we get a 4th movie especially if Meyer is involved -
Tweaking nacelle struts to TMP Ent style
Placing nacelles on struts prime E style

Interior should AND better be changed updated too

Well, I just say 95% because it's hard to make a copy of an original be EXXAAACCCTTTTLLLYYYY the same. For all intents and purposes, Alex's 1701-A is identical to the studio CG model.

If that's 95% the studio model, then this Enterprise-A was truly launched only half-finished. :ack: The lack of detailing on the back half of the secondary hull and nacelles (esp. that temp font 'NCC-1701-A') is embarrassing and I'm amazed they got away with it.

Beyond was a rushed production, and from what I've been told the graphics people were only given a week to model the Ent-A's computer model. They knew the ship wouldn't be seen from the rear and in very dark lighting. First rule in film design is don't build what you don't see. The TOS Enterprise wasn't even finished on its port side. No doubt this ship will be modified and more fleshed out if there is a 4th film.

Damn, add some better detailing, lighting and flattering angles to the model and you do have a winner! great to see what surely only Justin Lin and a few others saw before storyboarding it into a single montage shot and "dramatic" warp off into the credit sequence. great stuff!

Exactly...........

Anyways Pixel, thx once again for your posts on this. I appreciate it.......

The windows. On the Beyond -A, the larger ones sit almost vertically in their frames, whereas on Nightfever's version they're recessed but parallel with the hull shape.

Here's a really rough and quick highlight:
