Jodie Whittaker is the 13th Doctor

One thing I might try--maybe only for an episode or two--would be something out of THE NAME OF THE DOCTOR, a Tulzscha-like pillar of flame Doctor--the burning bush--with no body at all--but "scar tissue" left from it.

"The glowing, writhing beam of blue-white light--the 'mark' of the Doctor's travels on the universe. "

The Doctor's body is really just a Kosh like encounter suit after all

The Doctor, like all Time-Lords, transcends human form.

Will this mean more male companions? Then Yeah!! It has been too long since we have had a proper male companion. No more tag alongs of the female companion. God PLEASE NO FLIRTING!!! Just let it be like Donna and 10 or 4 and Sarah Jane inverted: best mates cavorting through time and space with much excitement and glee. Who would be a great male companion for her?

She's already said as much. Although looking at that picture, isn't she basically wearing Capaldi's sweater with an overcoat?

Speaking of which, it will be fun to see her wearing Capaldi's costume after the regeneration. In fact I think she'd probably look pretty cool in that outfit.

And I hope they don't make it some drawn out reveal either, but simply have her appear in a quick flash like it's any other regeneration.

That will be up to Chibnall. The Christmas Special is wrapped and they didn't shoot Whittaker's part of the regeneration, presumably because he's still writing it, much like how Moffat wrote Eleven's first lines in The End of Time; when Tennant wrapped, the director and all the crew left the set, and Moffat's people came in--both Davies and Tennant commented about how weird it was to see a whole new crew coming into their old digs (and in Tennant's case, to see someone wearing his costume).

I strongly suspect there will be a male companion. Or at the very least a male and female companion. Though that will start off the inevitable love triangle talk from some fans.

Thing is, if the Doctor ever runs into Amy Pond again in this form, Amy is going to tower over the Doctor. (Karen Gillan his really tall while Jodie Whittaker is just over average.)

Other than what others have reported, I don't know Whittaker from a Dalek (okay, that was an odd turn of phrase), but watching that quasi "in universe" clip, I first felt awed by her look of confidence and then I felt at ease by her twinkling, heartwarming smile.

I believe they hired the right person for the role.

I sincerely doubt this will happen. Much like how The End of Time served as a capstone for Davies' tenure and the characters of that time (until the Simm Master came back), I fully expect the Christmas special to close the chapter on the characters of the Moffatt era.

So having a different sexual preference is now bigotry? Better tell anyone transgender that or LGBTQ
Just to rip this apart completely. Trans people and most of the LGBTQ community have a far more enlighted attitude about gender. In fact, the only time the idea of "preference" ever comes up is in pathetic excuses to justify racism and transphobia from certain members of the community. I assure you that every trans person I know and in face most of my cis friends are happy to see a female Doctor and aren't bogged down by your primitive notions and beliefs.

Anyone agree that the Doctor becoming a woman will be connected in-universe to Missy. Maybe Missy inspired the Doctor to change gender? Or maybe the Doctor does it to make up for wanting Missy to be good and thinking he failed? What if the Doctor at the end of the Christmas Special does return to Missy to fulfill his oath, sees her dying, and it prompts him to become a woman to honor her memory?

Not really. He made it clear in WE&T that it's a total non-issue for him.
