Jodie Whittaker is the 13th Doctor

I've never seen any of her work, but the promo clip was fun. Let's hope the writing is up to the occasion.
I think they really tried to make it look like Kris Marshall up until the eyelashes.............cheeky BBC

I don't have to explain crap. I don't think the doctor should be a woman. Sorry, it's just how I feel about it. Call me sexist all day long. But that doesn't make me one. I just don't want to watch it anymore. Its rubbish. It isn't Doctor Who. So..respect other people's opinion. You like it. But that doesn't mean everyone else has to.

I can respect your right to have an opinion. But I don't have to respect the opinion itself.

Your opinion is pretty sexist. And at least you the last 50 years of Doctor Who to watch over and over. So, yay?

I'm with you, bub. Where do they get off making an nigh immortal appearance regenerating space-breathing telepath with two hearts something as outlandish as one of those nasty womenfolk? And one out of thirteen has to be a woman? What kind of unfair quota system is that? It should be at least one out of thirty or forty to keep it fair for the men, if I'm being generous. If women were intended to be on TV more they'd make up over half the population, I say. And damn right "sexism" should be in scare quotes like it doesn't exist in the very post where you're being incredibly sexist. Keep fighting the good fight, guy who's totally not a snowflake.
Ha! Not going there. Sarcasm aside, if the show fails in ratings all those sexist bigots are to blame! Yea...I can see it now. Why can't you just not be a fan of the female doctor who without having some nefarious sexism label put on you? Sheesh! I don't think the doctor should be a woman. Christ! You'd think I was some kind of backwards reject for having a different preference!! When did having a different opinion from the group think Nazis become a doctor who fan thing? I thought we celebrated all diversity, but not of thought I guess. NO! The new doctor is a woman now, and you're gonna like it. Or you're afraid of women and sexist!! That's so childish.

Interesting choice. Don't think I have seen her in anything but watching the promo I could "see" her as the Doctor (and I don't mean literally). Will be interesting to see what happens.

It's sexist because you are condemning the character based on her gender alone. It's the very definition of sexism.

If you didn't like how she performed the role, fine. But saying it's rubbish because it's a woman?

Good casting choice! Jodie was great in Attack The Block, which is the only thing I've seen her in. Looking forward to ManBaby Meltdown which is probably underway as we speak. :)
My experience, as well. I do think it was a good choice based on that. Now the only question will be
the caibre of the writing. You folk think they'll keep Bill?

Like Whittaker, I've never seen Marshall in anything, but I watched a clip of him a few hours ago and saw no trace of anything Doctory. I'm really glad he didn't get the role.
Welllllllllllll if you saw a clip then that proves it!

Ummmmmmmmmm the companion? Did you watch the end of this season?

I don't have to explain crap.
You do if you want people to understand your opinion.
I don't think the doctor should be a woman.
You know "he's" not even human, right? Or real?

Sorry, it's just how I feel about it.
Why? Because if you don't explain your opinion we're going to call you...

Call me sexist all day long. But that doesn't make me one.
No, us calling you sexist doesn't make you sexist. You have sexist opinions makes you sexist.

I just don't want to watch it anymore. Its rubbish. It isn't Doctor Who.
I haven't really wanted to watch it since Capaldi came on, not Capaldi's fault...more Moffat's than anything.

So..respect other people's opinion.
No, we can "tolerate" your opinion by allowing you to share it. We don't have to "tolerate" your opinion if we disagree with it.

You like it. But that doesn't mean everyone else has to.
True. Likewise you don't have to put up a fight because you refuse to explain an unpopular opinion. Read the room, learn what people want, then either participate or don't. Otherwise you're coming into a party, pooping on the couch, and then getting offended when people call you a jackass for pooping on the couch.

All this sexist broflake hysteria in people's posts and tweets is rather hilarious.
