Franchises that could exist in the same universe

Wasn't there a Weyland/Utani logo somewhere in either Firefly or Serenity? I could see that working, with the Firefly universe set somewhere in the 25th century, right? Earth was so overpopulated/poluted that we left, and the technology of Weyland/Utani made that possible.

I'm not really familiar with the Alien universe, but could that fit with no one in the Firefly 'verse having seen any aliens?

You could probably create a world of about 30 sitcoms if you chain-link the cameos.

Albeit an imperfect one with some aberrations. Friends, Mad About You, Caroline in the City and Frasier can all be put into the same universe, although we also see Joey Tribbiani watching Cheers, which doesn't really work.

If I recall correctly, alien life isn't very well known in the Alien universe, and since the Firefly universe is set in one big solar-system, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine these humans never encountered aliens, and since they don't leave that solar-system, they never encounter it.

Almost any space show can be placed in the same universe as any show that takes place on Earth so long as the unique physics of the TV show don't contradict. Nobody can prove 24 and Farscape, for example, don't take place in the same universe.

All animated Mike Judge shows take place in the same universe, then King of the Hill connects them to Simpsons, Futurama, and then all Seth Macfarlane animated shows through Family Guy. Then, Beavis and Butthead appear in Step by Step, and Full House has Step by Step and Family Matters cameos. I don't remember but I bet you can connect those shows to pretty much the entire suite of 90s ABC sitcoms. You can link 24 to Simpsons through the real time episode. Then, you can layer in any scifis you want that don't explicitly contradict that people were living normal lives in the 1990s.

If ANY of those shows can link to CSI, then pretty much every CBS crime procedural gets in.

I was thinking more along the lines of shows that have similar elements, like my Warehouse 13/Raiders example, or @Mage's Alien/Firefly example. Obviously many things lack contradictions, but they also lack any kind of connection.

Hey, Star Trek TNG and sitcoms then, both share similar positive outlook on humanity and cultural conservatism hidden in progressive plot points.

Yeah, but I suspect Picard would frown on the life-goals of most sitcom characters as they seldom have anything to do with bettering humanity.

Well the Galaxy Trio could work as a live action series, I can see it in the TOS universe timeline, or set within the Next Generation setting, with the Crew being part of Starfleet or more appropriately part of the Federation Police force. They could tone back the superhero aspects, and yet still retain the feel of a superhero team, all while fighting crime in the Federation territories and worlds within Federation space. Instead of explorations, there are tons of planets, ancient aliens sleeping underground, or invaders in outer colonies, and so on that could work for that as a TV series. It could also include villains similar to a Harry Mudd, or finding some ancient alien tech on a colony world where people have gone missing. a pretty much overall story arc of policing the federation, with the Galaxy Trio as the primary crew.. Space Ghost however would seem a bit of a stretch, unless he was dealt with like a Batman character, and was either a Soon type android, or some kind of human who acquired the Space ghost mantle with some sort of lost alien tech found by him.. either way, I still think the basic Idea of Galaxy Trio would be perfect for fitting into the Startrek universe. impulse engines, and warp capable could also fit the Condor ship, however I took a different route with the tech for my schematics.

Another interesting idea I had been thinking about was placing the Dune series in with the Chronicles of Riddick series. Dune the movie would be more appropriate, but it would fit with how Riddick was done. That would be the Earthen side of the Padishar Imperium. The propulsion tech from Riddick was on the outskirts of the empire, while the inner planetary spheres were using the large jump ships and the spice to fold space. the pioneers outlands were the furthest from the central battles with the Major Houses. I'd love to see something there.

As for Waylan, it could work with Firefly for sure. I rather like the Dark Matter series myself. I can see Firefly working there too.. along with the expanse. Not sure about the series with the former hobbit.. Name escapes me.. Kill Joys I think?? that could also work in firefly and Dark Matter I think.. haven't seen killjoys yet, so not sure.. any thoughts?

They also get mentioned in Angel. I suppose when deals with demons don't go as hoped, they had to look off world:)

I thought the CW TV verse, at least before Supergirl got started, could have fit right in with the DC Film Universe. But, alas, that ship has sailed.

There aren't any former hobbits in Killjoys, the only shows on the air right now with former Hobbits is Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective's Agency with Elijah Wood, Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan, and Sean Astin will be joining Stranger Things for it's second season. Astin was also cast in upcoming series The Alienist, but ended up being replaced because he was having trouble doing it and Stranger Things at the same time.

What, seriously??

Episode: "Harm's Way"

There's commercial for Wolfram & Hart that mentions during it companies that it is a part of; quote excerpt:

Wolfram & Hart has put roots down in this glamorous city that grow deep, and branches that reach right into the heart of every major corporation, including Yoyodyne, Weyland Yutani, and Newscorp .

ah you're right.. Its Aaron Ashmore, for some reason I always confuse him with Dominic Monaghan

Both Rick and Evelyn O'Connell (from The Mummy '99) and Indiana Jones fought in WW2; I'd love to see a comic telling of a shared adventure with a paranormal twist. Could even throw in a Tintin cameo! :p

And I still want to see that Jump Street/Men in Black crossover flick that now looks unlikely to occur. Although, with Lord and Miller fired from the Han Solo movie, maybe they'll pick up the reins from Muppets Most Wanted director James Bobin in order to restore their A-list cred? :bolian:

"The A-Team" and "Knight Rider" exist in the same universe, as I see it. Heck, I'd throw "CHiPs" in there, too; don't see why not.

If it wasn't for an episode of "Quantum Leap" where Sam leaped into a woman who had kids and one of them complained they might miss Magnum, I'd say that and "Magnum, pi" were in the same universe.

Any numbe of old westerns could be in the same universe. Just insert fill in the blank with "Gunsmoke" (if you ignore "Gunsmoke's terrible continuity and dates).

As far as I am concerned, "Dexter" and "Profit" take place in the same universe. Imagine Dexter going after Jim Porfit.

Again, as far as I am concerned, "The X-Files" and "Mysterious Ways" are the same universe.

I don't see why not "Due South" and "Nash Bridges" can't be the same universe.
I might even put "Columbo" in there.

Hell, if it wasnt' for Don Johnson being the same lead and his MV co-star appearing in an episode as a different character, I'd put "Nash Bridges" and "Miami Vice" in the same universe.
