You'd think that by now, someone at Pockets must have heard about our massive complaints on their 'art' department? Just joking, I'm aware that covers with original art are far more expensive and that the costs cannot be justified by Pockets. And it's about the inside right, not the outside? I wasn't to keen on Uma's latest entry into TrekLit. I forgot the title, the Deep Space Nine novel with Pulaski in it, and the refugees. But her other work was outstanding, so the pre-order was already done weeks ago.
I have every intention of reading this, I have no intention of owning a physical copy due to that good awful cover, so I have just pre-ordered it for my Kindle.

Reading the blurb this book seems too weird not to read. Though I agree the cover is nothing to write home about, I have created a few covers for technical manuals in Word and some of those came out better.
I fully plan on changing the cover of my ebook, somehow, and replacing it with the dancing babies of Crows-tellan Garak
They could simply license the cross-cult ones...and I doubt, in this day and age, that it is much more expensive than the sixth form photoshop jobs. It's just bad taste.
But Cross Cult's releases are often years after the original's. I think the only two times when CC and Pocket where releasing the same book at once was VGD: Declassified and DSC: Desperate Hour and the second one is just due to them being scheduled around the DSC premiere. Though it would work for reprints.
Something I just noticed: According to Memory Alpha enigma tales is a Cardassian genre of mystery novels. I wonder if that has something to do with the plot. Also this represents the third time that McCormack's titles have something to do with Cardassian literature, the other two being The Crimson Shadow and The Never-Ending Sacrifice.
Totally...but it's just a question of getting the same team to do the covers a year or two early. And it would definitely do them a favour switching in the covers on ebook releases and reprints.
I count myself a satisfied owner and reader in any case, regardless of the cover art issues that may or may not be in play. Pre-ordered, and delivered ahead of official schedule.
At first I thought this was an old book being republished because of the way the cover looked. Very retro.
We probably all have and you're not the only one aware of that old saying, but it is a particularly shite cover that given the author, is a massive dis-service.
