It will be interesting to see what superhero movies look like in a few years if this, Black Panther, Aquman and Captain Marvel are all successful.
Indeed.... certainly those following Black Panther are VERY excited about how the movie is shaping up...so we might have a lot of good hype for it, and with other Marvel successes, will be poised to be successful as well.

Just going back to the debate about comparing it with Snyder stuff... I saw some scenes from MoS on TV the other night... the thing is , there are a LOT of good things about the movie...Henry Cavill is VERY well cast. He DOES give off the Superman vibe..it's just HOW he got to his place is what's messed up ...so is the pacing of Superman's arc.
It had a couple of good scenes, like Martha teaching Clark in a way similar to a special needs child, while Jonathan's talk after the bully was a good one. But then JOnathan dies in a stupid way -- sacrificing his life for a dog...and JOnathan sounds a little like government consipiracy theorist rather than helping Clark form a vision of helping people. Martha, by the next movie, sounds very bitter. it would have been better if she turned out to get a degree and was a professional therapist for special needs children, and told Clark he was her inspiration for it. Then Clark could banter back about her being a hero...and we could see the foundation of his upbringing. Marvel did a good job of that with the brief interaction of T'Challa & his father in Avengers:Age of Ultron
The mental anguish of killing would be dramatic on Supergirl, because we have had time building her character. For the DC FU, it kinda seems out of the blue.
And regarding the Captain America : Winter Soldier comparison... there is no doubt the world is dark and murky...but Captain AMerica himself is still someone we can believe in, and inspires not just the people IN the movie, but also outside. He gives off the vibe that Superman ought to.
Can't believe Wonder Woman is almost here...I am excited to give my own full opinion on it.
