I thought they said in either inBvS, or some of the promotional stuff, that Diana hadn't been seen in 100 years, with the implication being that whatever happens in her movie was so bad that she went back to Themyscira (I think that's how spell it, I'm feeling to lazy right now to look it up) and didn't come back to man's world until right before it started?
They could always work around that -- maybe she came back but it wasn't documented. Or, heck, they could do what movie series have been doing for generations: just ignore the exact details of earlier movies and do whatever they want.
so...
so... there's no accounting for taste?
Do you not know what the phrase means?Whose taste? Yours?
Must be a Trek fan.18 reviews in and 95% on RT
The one bad review so far is from UK newspaper "The Guardian" and calling it a review is generous. The critic in question spends more time attacking the film for seemingly not being what they want and not critiquing what the film actually does.
Get a grip. No one said they had to do anything. And I'm not even sure what the "happy and optimistic" thing has to do with tweaking the details to tell more stories set in a particular time period. Why? Why in the hell does Warner Bros. have to work around that for? Why lower themselves to such bad writing? For what purpose? So that DCEU can have a happy and optimistic comic book protagonist for the fans who can't deal with a protagonist with genuine emotions?
Tale as old as time. The critic in question spends more time attacking the film for seemingly not being what they want and not critiquing what the film actually does.
That's really heartening to see. Obviously each of us will still have to decide for ourselves if it is good (Ghostbusters had pretty good ratings too, "certified Fresh"), but 97% is about as good a chance as you can get.
I'm truly chuffed that they got this one right, and it only took four movies.![]()
Get a grip.
I loved MoS and liked BvS (SS was a very mixed bag) but WW is shaping up to be the DCEU crown jewel for sure.
"There's no accounting for taste" is the English adaption of the Latin phrase de gustibus non est disputandum. It means that in subjective matters of taste, people have wildly different opinions; disagreements about matters of taste cannot be objectively resolved.Whose taste? Yours?

Yeah Jax. You damn well better not like it for the wrong reasons or there will be trouble! Why? Because it's "heroically optimistic"? The Guardian newspaper has already given it two out of five stars.
