Maybe Savitar/Barry created and killed a time-remnant of Iris so he could have the real Iris for himself.
Somebody's a John fan. That would explain Barry's plan for dealing with Savitar.

That ending kind of reminded me of DS9's ending and Sisko joining the prophets in the wormhole.
Great episode. It had a much more emotional impact than the Supergirl season finale. The theory about hostage Iris being HR in disguise proved to be true, but it didn't diminish the tragic loss of life in this case, although Iris was saved.
I wonder why Savitar Barry continued to have "altered memories" of present events. HR's death should have a created a new timeline that was now separate from Savitar's, so he shouldn't be able to have any more visions.

I appreciate that they didn't go for the typical big ol' fisticuffs ending and did something a little more offbeat.

This didn't surprise me in the slightest. In fact, I seem to remember the producers telling us that we were going to meet a new version of Wells every season.

Wait a minute. Doesn't it almost seem as if Barry has prematurely fulfilled the prophecy of the future headline? He disappeared during what could be considered a "Crisis" and the Speed Force lightning could qualify as "Red Skies" to some.

Yes it's too early, but when the Speed force lets him out, he's going to meet young Eobard who has not turned to the dark side yet, and have a lot of adventures in the future before finally returning to the present.

I think the implication was that E2 Wells would be around, according to Barry's request
Nah - they'll just keep the Earth 2 Wells - probably until he figures a way to get the Speed Force to release Barry i the first episode of Season 3. (and BTW - I find it funny no one stated the obvious: That based on the article from 2024 they ALL know Barry will escape the speed force...only to disappear again in 6 years.

Personally, I love the idea that Wells is going to be different every year, even if I do like the Earth 2 version the best.
It's kind of the best of both worlds--you can have the drama of losing a character you like, but the knowledge that the actor isn't leaving. And Tom Cavanaugh is awesome on this show. It's amazing how he sells that these are different people, rather than the same guy reading different lines.
I admit I wasn't expecting this cliffhanger though I am glad they got Jay out of the Speed Force.
What a difference between Flash and Supergirl. I find it so much better that they are just using this show to tell superhero stories.
I'm glad at least that the Speed Force isn't going to put Barry through hell.
It will be interesting to see what happens to let him out. Will we see Bart Allen?
Will we see Wally wear Barry's red?
