Star Trek Continues becomes a CBS All Access Affiliate?

Things got very interesting on Sunday morning after STAR TREK CONTINUES posted this message on their Facebook page overnight:

Got CBS All Access yet? STC has been invited to join the affiliate program, so you can sign up through our website now. Sign up today!

Almost immediately, fans started conjecturing what this meant for STC. Were they suddenly being accepted by CBS? Would STC be shown on All Access?…

If that's CBS's price to allow them to finish up their full run, hey, fine and dandy. They can shill All Access all they want.

Don't mean I've GOT to sign up.

I don't think they're forcing anyone to sign up for anything. It's just one post on Facebook, hardly anything to get outraged over.

For myself, I think it's emblematic of Vic's good relationship with CBS over the years that they've gotten this affiliate status. Good on everyone involved with STC! :bolian:

A comment from STC on the Facebook post indicates that their episodes won't be on CBS All Access.

So, basically STC 'supports' CBS/Discovery, and they're an affiliate? Meaning what?

Vic respects them, does what they ask, and so I think in turn they have no issues looking the other way at times, or even offering a hand up in some cases. I doubt it means STC will be on CBS All Access, but it does show that CBS isn't out to tear fan productions down. Just my two bits on that one.
