Wonder Woman (2017)

So, discussions about two movies dedicated to men are spamming in a thread about a (incredible rare) superhero female movie. When threads about above mentioned movies already exist.

Yes, sexism is not a problem. Not at all.

dwelling is not required to be critical of a movie.

Bringing up the exact same arguments, over and over again, every.bloody.time. Superman gets mentioned, for four years now. If that's not dwelling, I don't know what is :p

To be fair, Diana has dated both Bruce and Clark, and they all work together, and she was in the damn movie that they are talking about. Wonder Woman cut off Doomsdays hand. That's cool.

Also, 47 seven pages in 5 month, trepidating on two or three minutes worth of trailers full of spoilery source material? They'll be plenty to talk about after the Wonder Woman Quintology wraps up in 11 years from now.

"Sigh"

Because all people who ever talk about the movie are the same person?

Threads drift, it happens. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are the big three of the DCEU, the conversation has drifted from WW to her compatriots. Total sexism.

Of course it is. But not everything is sexism.

You're right! Let's check if there are pages and pages and pages of discussion about Iron Man or Captain America movies in the Thor: Ragnarok thread!!!

Uhmm nothing... how bizarre...

And Wonder Woman and Thor have lot in common... their histories are based in mythology... they arrive in the human world... I wonder in what exactly they differ...

Perhaps we feel justified in judging a woman from her male attendance..? You know, we can't talk about her and only her personal merits..?

I can't believe I am saying it,. But Guy has several salient points.

We've got very little to go on. As has been mentioned, Suicide Squad had a lot of very good commercials, but the quality of the movie is debatable.

Since we're talking about B v S, I think no one has argued the idea that Wonder Woman is one of the best things of that movie.

With Marvel's movies, we constantly comparing them with one another. And despite differences, they generally fit the same tone and quality, which for many people is very good.

With the DC FU, we only have the 2 movies to give us a trajectory. Once may people have seen it, we will get a better sense of where we're going.

Wonder woman is immediately followed by Justice League, so in a sense Wonder Woman is a prequel to a sequel, and thus tied into those two other movies.

Once Wonder Woman comes out, there will still be comparisons, but It will be either how much better it is than the other two movies, or how it follows the same pattern

Quick searches for Stark and Captain brought up dozens of hits, but I'll yield and agree that the whining about Batman v Superman in this thread is nothing but pure sexism.

that's pure baloney.

Rangnarok has what a DOZEN movies it can compare too. AND it has two previous movies it followed -- Thor 1 & 2. Lots of discussion on that (like how people liked or disliked one or both) .

All Wonder Woman has before it is Man of Steel and the Justice League prequel (where she was a significant character). If this was the 5th WOnder WOman film (like Guy predicted), most of the conversation would center on those. The only significant live Media in the 75 years she's been around was the TV show, and we all know it won't be anything like that , so comparisons there aren't needed/relevant (though we HAVE spent some time with that).

Any news on early previews/reviews of the movie?

The legend of Snyder Christ stretches all the way to China.

Also at the Chinese premiere, Snyder has stated there will be a Wonder Woman sequel.

Also the 300 (a Zack Snyder film) Wonder Woman variant poster, is clever addition for the WW premiere.

DC did a whole slew of variants of movies several years ago. Check them out here.

For a guy who has basically nothing to do with the movie creatively (from what I can tell), its weird Snyder is getting mentioned in relation to it and is talking about it. I'm still hoping that, after Justice League, he just fades away from the DCEU.
