Looks pretty but seems to be heading for an action film.
Don't forget though- trailers are marketed for mass-audience appeal. I doubt very much that this is an explosions and bang bang pew pew movie.

Maybe. But you could easily cut a trailer for the first film in the style of this trailer and have the same amount of action present.Looks pretty but seems to be heading for an action film.
If I had to guess at the "final revelation" of BR2049, I'd say this:
The human race is completely extinct and everyone left on Earth is a replicant.
Sure, I understand. But I also think a lot of the nostalgia driven audiences are expecting something along the same tone of the first film. Hard to appeal to both.Don't forget though- trailers are marketed for mass-audience appeal. I doubt very much that this is an explosions and bang bang pew pew movie.

That trailer seems to suggest to me that Ford will be more 1st act and inciting moment. If, as you say, Deckard only appearing in 3rd act, I'd be concerned too.I was surprised by how much Harrison Ford there is in the trailer, since it's been said that Deckard is only appearing in the film's third act. If true, then we've seen a perhaps surprising amount of the film's climax in the trailer.

Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it’s about finding him; he comes in in the third act.
It's what Ridley Scott has said:
That, of course, was two years ago and Hampton Fancher's story was still in development. It's possible that the story was rejiggered to bring Deckard in earlier.
That would contradict the voice-over ending.Given the likelihood of the date being a grave marker, I really hope we don't get a flashback to the storyboarded 'Deckard shoots Rachael' ending. I am worried enough about the retrospective changes to BRs narrative. XD
That would contradict the voice-over ending.
No, seriously, I'm thinking that Rachael's time just ran out.
In what way do the other cuts make less narrative sense than the theatrical?I prefer the voice over ending, as it's really the only one that makes narrative sense.
