Maybe he's got a cousin down there who's fronting him the storage space gratis. That would cut out a YUGE expense to the whole project. This line from the J-Lane "Interview" stood out to me
Wonder what that means?
Bigly.

Does this mean that Slow Lane knew about the misinformation fed to Carlos?JONATHAN – Can I finally show those photos you sent me of the new facility? (I’ve been holding them back—at Alec’s request—for nearly two weeks!)
Come on Tom, tell us how you really feel!![]()

Wonder what that means?ALEC – Well, we won’t be asking donors to cover our ongoing expenses. We’ve made some pretty significant operational changes, ...
Does this mean that Slow Lane knew about the misinformation fed to Carlos?
...Carlos listed the new location as Gainesville, GA...
Now, I’m not sure where Carlos got his information from, but for the last two weeks, I’ve been preparing an interview with ALEC PETERS about the new Atlanta facility, and I already had a whole bunch of information and photos…
Considering his coordinated response, yes indeed he did.Does this mean that Slow Lane knew about the misinformation fed to Carlos?
...the bridge could at least be used in some capacity in a flashback...

It was a scheme hatched by the Axanar "brain trust" -
flabbergasting.

So if the sets won't be used after all, and all you needed was a greenscreen, why did it require $1.5 mil?
So did I. Know how I knew?Didn't read the interview (I don't give clicks to that guy), but, color me shocked SHOCKED that they aren't using the sets.... SHOOOOOOOCCCCKED.
Which I'm not. I knew he wasn't.
Just a matter of who is willing to do their due diligence. The world is changing. There is a permanent record blow by blow of the claims made and the information available during this run on studio IP. Anyone doing due diligence is going to find it, permanently tied to Alec and his team by name.
The attack now is plainly to try to have a fig leaf by which to smear all the Axamonitor content retroactively, when questioned by superficial reporters in the future. "You can't credit anything on that blog, because look it was so off on something, clearly this shows malicious intent".
Which is why I believe Carlos should be very plain in the permanent record of this event how it was that fake information was fed to him. A fact checker looking at the site should see "Deliberate False Information Fed to Axamonitor, Then Claimed By Axanar to be Proof Axamonitor is Inaccurate About Everything".
I also think Axamonitor has become big enough that even the FAQ and overview pages may be more than a casual fact checker will review. Therefore I think that there should be a TLDR summary banner that plainly warns future potential donors that this project took 1.4 million and produced almost nothing.

Great way to keep your hardcore fans. Send them false info about the new location. Then have them come and perform the labor of unloading the sets they so dearly supported, only to tell them the sets won't be used.
I know, right?noooo kiddingJust the fact that they've been able to edit the crowdfunding page after its gone live is really an issue. Why should people taking donor's money be able to change the narrative like that? Surely that's what the updates are for?
Exactlyasserting in many podcasts and in the fundraiser texts that they were creating "professional" Star Trek not "fan" Star Trek, without having a license to do so
and so on and so on, the list continues.
If the studios had allowed one for profit corporation to build a permanent for profit salaried competing studio by proposing they would make the IP 'better', they would have forfeited both future profits from the IP, and the right to defend themselves.
This wasn't about attacking a fan film AT ALL.
Agree.... and 'Yes, please'.The attack now is plainly to try to have a fig leaf by which to smear all the Axamonitor content retroactively, when questioned by superficial reporters in the future. I haven't followed the details of this so I must ask: Why are CBS/Paramount so determined to crush the Axanar project? ist tis just some conflict about copyright and money or what?
Well, Alec's latest thing is that Axanar is moving away from fan films and doing their own universe. That being the case, CBS/P ran him out of town and scared him off Trek fan films. So if that's the case, its very much a job done for them.Actually, they were quite generous in their treatment of Alec Peters and Axanar. He was on the hook, and they could've pan fried him a la almondine if they wanted. Instead, they gave him a means of saving face to his fans and pretty much let him off the hook. I can't help but wonder if they'll end up regretting being so magnanimous.
Brain Trust.Considering his coordinated response, yes indeed he did.
It was a scheme hatched by the Axanar "brain trust" - who unsurprisingly is more interested in discrediting a person who has consistently exposed Alec's unethical and borderline criminal behavior than in moving the Axanar project forward.
The hardcore fans don't have the same concerns as you do. They see the entire situation differently than you do. I would not expect outrage from them. At best, they will continue to quietly walk away.
