What do you want to see in the first Discovery Trailer?

To the OP: Several awesome beauty shots of the ship, some action shots of the characters, a sense of what the show's story arc will be, and something cool to get us Trek fans all jazzed.

Some ship shots, then shots of all the crew but with Michael Burnham in the background of all these like she's reacting to something off screen, then the last shot should be focused on her suddenly realizing something.

And then we're going to watch the whole season to figure out what mystery is, and it turns out to be something completely different because it was just a trailer made to tease us.

Incidentally, there was a 1 min trailer for STNG at the beginning of the summer before it's premiere, and I've never seen it again, not on youtube or anywhere. It's like it disappeared.

It's pretty much the same trailer as you posted. Just with different talent doing the VO. I taped EoF off of our FOX at the time and watched it many, MANY times. (I was 7.)

I want to see evidence that my favourite Star Trek trope has survived: starships chilling bow-to-bow as if re-enacting the Gunfight at the OK Corral in space.

I can forgive all sins after this.

It needs to have SOME knd of humor...not that it will be a laughfest, but just something to remind us that this show will FUN.

And maybe some special effect (ship, alien, whatever) that will make us go "wooooow"

We're not allowed to be fans????

Phil Vischer seems to be a fan, based on his Veggie Tales parody. His latest seems to aim to be all ages, with a few jokes even adults can enjoy (such as about seat belts)
It just seems to go against your beliefs. Mankind has abandoned religion and bigotry, ushering in a true golden age where Earth is an one world government with close ties to a bigger government of other worlds. It just seems odd that Evangelical Christians would like that, it seems like everything they're against. Most don't even seem to not like any fiction that doesn't bend over backwards to pander to their views.

Millennia ago, they abandoned their belief in the supernatural. Now you are asking me to sabotage that achievement, to send them back into the dark ages of superstition and ignorance and fear? NO!
