Thanks again to everyone who voted for Joey in the last contest! I've had a think and I can't remember a specifically themed Shakespeare contest (so hopefully at worst it's been a while).

The theme is simple. Any film or TV adaptation of a Shakespeare play, or any film/TV show based in whole or in part upon a Shakespeare play. It can be a parody within a film/TV episode but it must obviously relate to a specific play(or plays) by Stratford Upon Avon's finest.

What isn't allowed: things relating to Shakespeare himself.

So, a version of Romeo and Juliet or a certain film starring Lesley Nielson (not The Naked Gun) that was based on a specific play are acceptable. Shakespeare in Love, or Dr Who's The Shakespeare Code are not!

Hope that makes sense. I'll be aiming to get a poll up around Saturday. Usual rules (200x200 etc) apply.

Oh and please specify the play(s) in question.

I learned about Shakespeare the same way I learned about all other classical literature... through The Simpsons!

    - Simpsons version of, er, Hamlet. Again.

Is this the one you were expecting? I was torn between this and the performance in Star Trek's "The Conscience of the King"...

Great entry but that wasn't the one I was expecting ;)

Last call for entries, I'm off to see FF8 this afternoon and when I come home I'll put the poll up :)

I think I know which Hamlet you mean, and I'm surprised that one wasn't entered yet, too. And there are some relatively recent Shakespeare adaptations that I'm still waiting to see entered.

An unfairly derided film I feel :)
