Simply breathtaking.

"It's time for the Jedi...to end."

I get the sense that Luke means the Jedi should end in addition to the Sith and leaving the Force on its own.
Here's the first poster.

One of the most beautiful film posters I've seen in years.

Someone mentioned it on Facebook and it's quite a resemblance, but it looks like the poster to the first Tron movie.

I would offer a twist on your theory. It is possible he wants the Jedi and the Sith to end, not to leave the Force alone, but because he wants a new type of person who embraces a bigger picture than just Light and Dark. In other words, he wants to replace the Jedi and the Sith with something new. I definitely got the vibe that he is training Rey to be more than just a Jedi, particularly her line about "something so much bigger". Also, consider that Luke has spent a long time alone on this island meditating on the Force. It would make sense that he has reached an epiphany about the true meaning of the Force. So he might have reached a greater understanding of the Force where he feels that Jedi (Light) fighting Sith (Dark) is antiquated.

I saw some A-Wings.

Also in those three shots with Leia's head, Kylo's destroyed mask and the old Jedi books, you can hear three quotes from the movies in the background. You can hear Leia say 'Help me Obi-Wan', Obi-Wan say 'Seduced by the Dark Side', but I can't make out what Yoda says.

Yeah, I noticed the similarities, too. But then Tron poster was a homage to Star Wars, so it's come full circle.

That makes a lot of sense and I think that works better than just simply leaving the Force alone.

You got better ears than me. I couldn't hear anything more than just whispers.

Glorious! It doesn't reveal anything but it leaves you hungry for more! That's how a teaser is supposed to look and that's what a teaser is supposed to do.

My bet is that the book shown in the trailer contains the secret history of the first Force user, and that the issue at hand is that both the Jedi and the Sith are wrong. There is no need for division, but unity.

My response was 'You had m at 'More Poe' -

Looks like I posted my thread at the same time as Romulan_spy!

Makes sense to me.

Good trailer, and I'm certainly looking forward to this.

This is what the trailer suggests to me, which I can totally dig.

"Its energy surrounds us and binds us."

Wow, this trailer is hauntingly beautiful. I mean, seriously, if the finished film uses shots like this, it may be the most beautifully shot film of the saga. I'm really intrigued by what Luke's proclamation is going to mean for the galaxy. The bigger part of me believes that this is what they've been suggesting for outside of the film saga (and in Rogue One), that there have been other ways to access the Force, and perhaps the Jedi and the Sith have not been helping the Force but hindering it.

Or he's just evil. I doubt that though. :p:p

One of the things I did love about Rogue One was the idea that the Force was this mystical power and how people treated it, who may not have been on the light or dark side. I forgot the blind guy's name but he was always saying "I am one with the force and the force is with me". Something I got from this teaser is that theme might continue in Last Jedi and I'm really intrigued by that. It would also make Rogue One really part of the Star Wars mythos instead of just anthology film.
