That's a great interpretation of the Enterprise. I love it!

    Thanks guys. :D

Greetings from Huntsville, Alabama! While we're here waiting to go to the US Space and Rocket Center, I've had some time to work. :) My son had informed me that he didn't remember ever staying at a hotel, and that I should take us somewhere over spring break. So, here we are! :D

This is my version of an Akula class, but styled with parts from my Beyond Enterprise. Still a ways to go, but the major shapes are there.

Also, my Dauntless is coming along, if slowly. [IMG]:) It should be ready for the printers in a few weeks.

    Keep them coming!
Also, a random thought on the Akula is to orient the nacelles on the horizontal plan just to see the variation. Not sure if that would look good or not, but I've seen a TOS varient.

Cool! To badly paraphrase, "To my planet, welcome!" Have fun while you're here!

Yep, I have to try that. I'm not sure how it would look, having to cut a big hole in that cowling though. Honestly, setting them up in a Stargazer configuration would look best!

Haha, that's right! We had a great day at the Space Center, and took the tour over to Redstone arsenal. Was really good, just hot today!

    More soon. :)

Well, I'm still here! Been a crazy couple of weeks, but I've been getting a lot done lately.

Newest couple of things, got a Sonic Trowel painted up and finished:

I practiced doing a simulated wood grain on the handle, which I think turned out pretty good. better than I expected!

And then, I got the 19" Dauntless printed out, hopefully to be painted this week. Client asked for a gunmetal color for the hull, so that should look pretty neat!

Is that parts of the MCRN Rocinante off to the Side? Have you ever taken a stab at the Endurance from Interstellar? As always, really great work. :)

Yep, it is! I tweaked free 3D printable model that SyFy released, and am working on getting it built.

I did actually print a small Endurance, a while back. It was about 9 inches wide.

    Thanks man!

More stuff soon, I've been out painting tonight. :D

Oh cool! Nice endurance. Do the rangers and Landers detach so you can replicate the escape scene?

Not on that model, but I do have the smaller ships as separate objects, so I could do that. :) Would be neat to put a little magnet in there so they stay docked good!

The MCRN Donnager and Rocinante would make amazing 3D printed ships!

I like this idea. Would it be difficult to put the magnets in there? Or would a hole and post solution be more practical?

If the magnets work, I could see them being very popular in different circles, even in miniature gaming.

It wouldn't be too hard, I found some small ones that would probably work.

I'll have to try it sometime. :)

:) I need to get you some more parts!

I'll take a lot of photos to share, but I'm about to start a project to make conversion parts for a 1:500 Revell Enterprise kit into the Beyond version. Basically I'll be doing the nacelles and replacement pylons, along with the impulse deck.

To make sure it all fits, I'll be using the 3D scanner to scan the kit parts, and build from that. Should be fun. :D I have some carcasses from some Revell kits on the way too, to use as experiments.

That process sounds quite involved. How small are the parts to scan?
