I was glad that the Crowley vs Lucy match didn't turn out the way I had expected. Otherwise, the episode was really nothing but filler.

Yeah, I really thought that Lucifer was going to escape from Crowley's clutches when his two henchidiots came in trying to make a deal with Lucifer..

Unless it takes more power to kill Crowley since hes a crossroad demon.

Or part of the warding prevents him from using power against Crowley.

I hope that with Castiel returning to Heaven we find out what happened to Bobby after he helped Metatron escape. His fate has been hanging for far too long.

Agreed on all fronts...if you must do filler, THIS is how you do it.

Unfortunately it looks like we'll have to wait until April (at least) to get answers to heavenly questions...they're on hiatus for three weeks, and when they come back, it's with a filler episode that looks like it won't be anywhere near this good:

I think it's more the former than the latter, honestly; as an archangel at full power Crowley was more or less at his mercy (I have no doubt he could prevent Crowley from zapping away if he wanted). This being Lucifer, it's easy to believe that he couldn't resist an opportunity to gloat, especially given the circumstances.

Although, this does raise an interesting point...Lucifer has threatened Crowley time and time again, and at one point he also seemed afraid of Castiel, who as a seraph is less powerful than Lucifer (remember at the end of "A Little Slice of Kevin")--and he even seemed afraid of Gadreel in "Road Trip," and as far as we know Gadreel was just a regular-tier angel. Contact with Metatron (or his powers at least) left him severely burned in the latter episodes of season 8. Yet, for all the times he's faced off against things that had the power to kill him and then some, Crowley never even gets more than verbally threatened. The only exception was in "Beyond the Mat," and that doesn't count, since he had the Rod of Aaron to beat back Lucifer with.

At what point do we stop flirting and actually show Crowley fend off (run from?) something heavenly?

Poor Baby. Before Chuck left, he should have enchanted her against harm-- there must already be an enchantment that allows her to drive back and forth across the United States in a matter of hours.

That was a really nice twist that I should have seen coming. If Crowley rebuilt Lucy's body, of course he would build in safeguards. There's probably a few more surprises coming in that regard. But I thought it was a little odd that the Ramsey plot was so random. When Crowley said that she was only loyal to Lucifer, I expected her to come to his rescue. For a Hell Hound, she took damage pretty easily from an inexperienced camper; and died pretty easily for that matter. Still, this was a good episode, with a few cute moments. "He seems nice."

Anyone notice that Dean was carrying Lucille at the beginning of the episode?

Huh. So the BMOL dude will be the third wheel for now? It was good to see Claire again but I found it odd that she didn't ask about Cas. Liked the bit about Dean and the nice hotel. "It's ruined me. I am now ruined."

Not quite sure where all this is going; I'm guessing from the preview that the "old men" of BMOL will try to get rid of the Winchesters. I hope there's something on the horizon to make this all a bit more cohesive.

...and, yes, shit finally goes down. Now we know where all this BMOL stuff is headed. Liked the backstory that was long overdue, but the result was a bit predictable. Still, I didn't expect it to happen so abruptly.

Aw, man, poor Mick. He was getting really interesting. There's a waste of a character.

But I was quite relieved that Eileen has survived. I figured she was toast the way things go on this show. And it looks like something might be cooking between her and Sam.

Speaking of which, I got a kick out of Mama Winchester getting some action out of Ketch.

But am I to understand that Lucifer is now free of his molecular-level warding? That seemed a little easy to accomplish. And Crowley seemed a little easily taken in by his performance. Is he still a couple of steps ahead somehow and leading him on?

Just the opposite. The "doctor" said his vessel was healthy, but when pressed, admitted that the demon who had come up with the wards had been killed by Crowley. It was going to take some time for him to find a way to break the wards.

This British Men of Letters code is such horrible writing. There's no substance to it beyond some mustache-twirling shock value.

Oh, I guess I misunderstood. I thought they had removed the wards but that there was still a supernatural "alarm system" that had to be removed. I better watch that part again.

That was one of the better episodes.

However, the show still annoys me with how they keep their death proof characters alive. Dagon has the ability to make angels explode with a single blow, so of course when it comes time to fight Castiel it's time for some kung fu.

Him protecting Cas may have been just for his mother's benefit.

He obviously has some awareness of the outside world.

My understanding is that Lucifer only turned evil after having to protect the mark, so I'm not sure why it's assumed that his baby would also be evil.

I've been wondering if the kid would turn out to be more of an anti-Lucifer than an anti-Christ, and this lent a little bit of support to that idea. Cass being a dupe is a little too obvious.

I'm sorry to see Dagon and the Colt go, though. She was pretty cool and I was happy to have the Colt around again after so long.

I wonder if Lucifer's baby, when he gave Castiel that power up, did something to him. It almost seemed like he was talking like a member of a cult after killing Dagon.

Maybe Lucifer is somehow able to communicate through the baby and is showing his version of a future just to ensure the baby doesn't get killed.

Besides, the Colt didn't work on Lucifer, why would anyone think it would work on hus baby? Even if it kills Kelly, the baby can resurrect her, which he has done already.

You know, I go back to the 5 things in creation that the Colt cannot kill line. Lucifer is clearly one, so that tells me Archangels. My theory on the others?

God and Amara, since they are the same kind of entity.
Death, creator of Reapers.
Eve, creator of monsters.
Leviathans, since they seem to be created by the same primordial soup as the Archangels.

Basically, anything that is an originator of others things, a creator, and since at least 2 are created from primordial soup (with Eve also appearing to be related to, or may even BE, a Leviathan), I have always thought as those are the ones immune to the Colt.

What do you all think?

Regarding last night's episode...

I have to say, when the shifter was being tortured by Ketch, I was thinking the monster that killed Tasha would be snother shifter. Nice use of red herring.

I saw what Max did at the end coming as soon as that ring was showing. The boys should have grabbed the ring on the way out so Max wouldn't damn himself, which is a mirror of what Dean did for Sam at the end of season 2.

Speaking of which, this is the second callback, in concept at least, this year to season 2. The other being the girl from "AMERICAN NIGHTMARE" with the special children. I wonder if this means anything...
