    WHAT THE DAMN HELL!!!

I pre-ordered my copy from bol.com, a Dutch retailer where I order all my TrekLit from. They said delivery on publication date. Just checked, anyone who orders now, will have to wait 2-3 weeks.....
They better deliver my copy tomorrow!!

I've had that happen on US editions of UK books on Star Wars, what it meant in those cases is while they had preorders for it, which were honoured, they weren't able to get anymore so it couldn't be ordered via their site.

So yeah, the website listing and status can be quite deceptive.

It was the same sometimes when I still got paper books from amazon.de. I got my pre-ordered book on time, but the website said 2-3 weeks. So I wouldn't be too concerned just yet @Mage

Just finished it. Damn the ending anyhow. I had a feeling that was what would happen, and it did.

@Jedi Ben, the ending of Control doesn't..."invalidate" the TGTMD opening bit, does it?

IDK I got mine exactly at 12 this morning. They are pretty good with that.

A very entertaining story. After the first few pages in the other time frame ,I kinda guessed Control's identity. I was right near the end. I wonder if a certain character will eventually be healed(hopefully) and whether another will face any charges or damage to their reputation after being implicated in a major plot.

Mr Mack. Is there a follow-up coming? Barring an NDA on the topic.

I haven't read or seen(if this is an episode of Enterprise) this. But I can confidently say(without too much of a spoiler for you I hope) that this ending doesn't invalidate anything Section 31 has done before. It doesn't ret-con any of the previous missions or change any of the characters I have read in other novels or have seen on shows. I admit I haven't watch or read any Enterprise novels. But I expect the same. After you read it.

The opening of The Good That Men Do is more about the status of Section 31 after all of this.

    Actually, what I meant was...

The ending of Control doesn't mean Section 31 hasn't "really" fallen in TGTMD, does it? It doesn't mean that Section 31 has just gone into hiding or anything like that?

I hate the concept of Section 31 with every fiber of my being and I would love to believe that, even after this novel, it's still dead.

Based on my interpretation, Section 31 is now gone. If you want exact reasons let me know and I will give everyone of them to you in this spoiler form

    Was the reference to
the USS Franklin in Chapter 33 a nod to Beyond? That chapter was set in the same year it went missing, 2164.

^ I doubt it, because novels are prohibited from mentioning anything from a Kelvin-verse film.

I assume legally David can't say it is a reference, but it could be one. The ship isn't described and there is no registry number given, but specifically the year, 2164, is important to a ship with that name
