I wonder what the emblem is for. Tholian division?
I suppose the simplest assumption it's just the new command.
Reminds of some logo designs from "Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise." Can't find a good picture to show it though.
Pike to TOS isn't that big of a shift to my eyes. The movies are big departure though. The TNG era uniforms have a lot of similar beats from TNG S1 to NEM. S1 uniforms in some respects are a call back to TMP.Look at how much the uniforms changed from Captain PIke's time to that of TOS. And look a the uniforms in the movies, followed by uniforms in the first season of TNG and what we saw by the end of DS9 and VOY. Starfleet is constantly tweeking their uniforms (not sure why). So as long as it "fits" I'm fine. If they are wearing neon purple kilts with shoulder boards and busby caps and lots of lace--okay that would be silly.
Haven't seen that, so cannot comment. Is it online anywhere?Doesn't look fake. Looks different. Also looks expensive. And the detail matches early art made available to licensees.
I'm not 100% convinced it's not minor manip of the fabric seen in the pic I posted. The color, fabric and detail of the uniform it's on are a perfect match to the trailer.

Just noticed that @RAMA made that his avatar pic before you uploaded this.

Mass production brings down costs. You're comparing a prop for a show that they may make 20 or 30 of at most to something manufactured and shipped out in crates.I earned a number of qualification badges while in the military, and some of them looked pretty intricate, detailed, etc... but were purchased from the on-post uniform shop for like, $5.99.
This is very true- but couldn't they mass-produce them? Sell the "others" to fans!Mass production brings down costs. You're comparing a prop for a show that they may make 20 or 30 of at most to something manufactured and shipped out in crates.
