Colony Season 2 Discussion Thread

Oh, that wasn't in the area between blocks. That was in a different block, the Santa Monica block. That's why they had to climb over the walls of the Santa Monica block to get out.
I am confused..how is the world of Colony organized (i.e. this colony/block thing?)

Each former city is surrounded by an outer wall and contains multiple blocks, which are each cut off by inner walls and locally ruled by different proxies (each with their own green zone). The next step up appears to be the regional governor who overseas a few former cities within a particular geographic region (such as the western coast of the former United States). We've also seen a council that apparently overseas all the regions.

Note: we have no idea how many former cities were walled off and subdivided by blocks. There was likely a size relationship, though, with smaller cities not being worth the effort.

Wow! I thought that was an intense episode! I like how all of the plot threads are coming together. You've got the tensions of the different resistance groups, and with Kate's group. You've got the tension with Will at his work, which is spilling over into his family now that he's pissed off the leader of the Red Hand group, and the threat of being revealed at work. Shoot, even the tension with the Gracie's creepy sitter came to a head. Bram and Snyder's tension topped out with the shenanigans at the camp causing the entire camp to be destroyed and they barely survived. Lots of great stuff. I'm glad to see that this show is back in action!!

I hope all of this pushing Will's family one way--right out of LA. They're all together. Shoot, they should leave with Broussard and that lady too and get out of Dodge. I hope that's the direction that the series is heading in. They've only got 27 months to live at most if they stay in the city!

Ding dong the witch is dead.
I saw this post before I saw the episode ...I thought Katie Bowman was killed.. Sarah Wayne Callies hasn't had luck with her past couple of shows...

The actress who played Lindsay was really good...to have us (especially my wife) thinking she's super creepy and wanted her to be killed... well, we got her wish...thought it seemed too sudden.

^ I thought it was pretty good timing to have her killed. There's not going to be much time for tutoring now that the whole family is on the run. It's just a matter of time before they're out of the LA Bloc.

Finally, the series is picking up this season. The whole earlier part was a wasted slow down. The last 2 episodes have really been intense and it looks like they'll be making forward progress again. I hope they get out of LA soon so we can see what the next chapter is like.

The show is going to either come to a head fairly quickly at some point or it's going to morph into Otherworld with the family trying to "fit in" to a new block and it's strange way of doing things each week.

I'm hoping that with all of the hints of a rebellion outside the blocks and "the real war" starting, that they live outside the blocks! If it becomes a drama about fitting in with new neighbors, not good!

I noticed that the scene in which Lindsay was finally eliminated was one long continuous shot, up and down the stairs, lasting about 3-4 minutes. Good stuff. I always like those.

And we follow that up this week with Will getting to stab the IA guy. (Though he's probably still alive.) Nice. Its like the people making this show are fans too.

99% chance that that one lady (the mother from the safehouse / cell leader) was the one who ordered the Red Hand hit on the Bowmans and also has the missing gauntlet.

I don't think there's any doubt about that. She even asked about Wills kids IIRC. She ordered the hit for sure. I'm not sure if she has the gauntlet though. Could be though.

I was all like "oh hey look, Bram is going to infiltrate the Red Hand and help his parents out, good job Bram".

And then I was all like "dammit Bram".

So regarding the blackjacks, I guess one question is why would the Raps want to send some of their fiercest enemies into outer space?

He seems to be operating on idiot plot, part of which would be because.... his parents never told him who was trying to kill them all?

Now if he does know the Red Hand tried to kill his family but they just never showed that scene, then he's definitely infiltrating them. Otherwise he's just stupid teenager in stupid teenager plot.

Geez Bram is a real idiot. The story was finding it's footing this second season in terms of telling intense stories. The 2nd season started out being a snoozer.

Pretty good episode overall. Intense. Except for the idiot Bram. I hope they can resolve the family junk really quick because that's getting old. Let's move the plot forward. Get out of LA already and "start the real war." They've teased us for awhile about why they're sending people into space. Now they need to make some headway in addressing.

Aragorn, I hope that you're right that he's infiltrating them! That would redeem this!

I was puzzleing over the red hand mom, Karen when we first saw her but didn't get around to looking her up. Then this ep I was like.. who the heck is she.. and it's Dr. Kerri Weaver from ER, she looks basically the same !! She's really good in this but yeah, the whole Bram story line is cringey.

What the hell are they doing with Bram? He knows the Red Hand tried to kill his family and legitimately joined them anyway?

^ They're making him dumb to amp up the family drama. I hope they quit that!

The episode was alright. I liked how Will and Bram had an actual meaningful conversation. That seemed like a real moment. Of course, Bram snuck off again shortly after that!

I wonder how many people in the green zone that Red Hand killed?

The show really needs to start making forward progress again. They stopped learning stuff and the resistance group that we're following pretty much doesn't exist. Seems like in the finale might deal with them finally getting out of LA. The plot developments are too slow in coming on the show. I hope they realize they should pick up the pace a bit. Take their lead from shows like The Expanse or GoT. At least in terms of telling a large story with lots of developments, not that it needs to copy either style.

"Sir, we found a nice handprint complete with 5 fingerprints on the door to the Ambassador's home. Blood analysis confirms the blood is that of the Ambassador. Fingerprint records indicate that the killer is...."
